COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schwarzbier (shvahrts-beer) is German for "black-beer". Brewed to be a light bodied dark beer with a clean, crisp, refreshing finish. Its well balanced malt character is complimented with a touch of roastiness. Brewed using imported black patent malt and noble hops. Pairs with chunky dark breads, marinated meats such as brisket or German Sauerbraten. Not recommended for cellaring. Serve in a flute or pilsner glass at 45-50deg

22oz bottle poured into a copita glass. Black color with a small white head. Aroma is lightly earthy with a well lagered roast. Taste is very clean with less of these direct aspects coming through, still there but light. Easy drinking, a fine Schwar, there aren’t too many as is, I could keep drinking this one for a while.

22oz bomber. Pours a medium chocolate brown with a small/average bubbly beige head. Strong chocolate notes on the aroma with some grassy hops and biscuit. Thin watery body with soft carbonation. Chocolate and toast on the flavor. Not very complex but good stuff.

Bottle shared by Mike. Thanks! Nose and flavor show some smoke, chalk, and roast. Nice and on point for the style.

Bottle. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa, light roasted malt. Flavor adds some nuts and bread. Pretty dry. Pretty tasty, seemed weak at first but grew on me.

From a bomber bottle. Note: This was about a year old so it may have been slightly past its prime. Pours a dark color with a finger of head which disappeared very quickly. The aroma has some roasted malts and slight sweetness. The initial flavor is that of dark fruit sweetness and roasted malts. Some coffee is also present, though its very slight. On the aftertaste some of the noble hop profile comes through. Overall its very well balanced and a very decent dark lager.

Pours mahogany-tinged black into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention leaves slight sheets. Roasted chocolate and toast aromas. Crisp chocolate upfront with a lasting, slightly sour smoke finish.

Pours pitch black, medium off-white head, moderate lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and yeast. Taste is predominantly a light bitter, roasted malt, with mild balancing sweetness. A little sticky, light body, refreshing.
