COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Schwarzbier (shvahrts-beer) is German for "black-beer". Brewed to be a light bodied dark beer with a clean, crisp, refreshing finish. Its well balanced malt character is complimented with a touch of roastiness. Brewed using imported black patent malt and noble hops. Pairs with chunky dark breads, marinated meats such as brisket or German Sauerbraten. Not recommended for cellaring. Serve in a flute or pilsner glass at 45-50deg

Really dark with lots of chocolate in the aroma with a super smooth mouthfeel. Flavors is really hoppy with burnt caramel and toffee. Short on the finish though.

Deep brown beer with a thin white/tan head. Aroma is very chocolatey and quite rich-smelling. A bit earthy and fairly chewy. Soft and chocolatey. Bitter cocoa and a soft well-lagered cleanness on the back. Itís got a more assertive hoppiness than most, but itís quite nice.

Bottle from Village Beer Merchant in Buffalo. Poured a deep dark almost opaque brown with a medium frothy beige head. Nice sweet caramel malty aroma. Flavor had a great balance of sweetness and dry roasted malty notes to finish. Good drinkable random pickup from NH.

Courtesy mcbackus. Pours a dark brown, with an off white head. Smells of big caramel, graham crackers, and smooth vanilla. The flavor was a little mellow, dark fruits and malts encompass its identity. A little roasty with sometoasted malt in there too. Nice drinking little schwarzbier, nothing too complex or exciting, but certainly drinkable.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a beige head. Light roasty aroma, with some cocoa and a hint of hops. The flavor is on the light side, but well balanced. Nutty roasted malts, with cocoa and some lingering hops. A hint of smoke reveals itself as the beer warms. Pretty good.

Bomber. Pours deep blackish brown with off-tan head. Nose is dark malt, cacao, Wheaties, pumpernickle bread. Tastes malty, with cacao, rye, slight oak and hops. Medium palate. Solid, and a style I see far too little of these days.

Deep ruby color pour with small tan head. Nose of smoked meats, chocolate, and roasted malts. Flavor is similar with a bitter finish. Good mouthfeel as well.
