Especially breweries that are regional. 1 liter swingtop bottle. Pours red with a nice tan head. Smells fruity, nutty, caramelly, earthy, spicy. Tastes of caramel, nuts, light spice, some hints of bitterness, tea, touches of booziness. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a finish that yields some warming alcohol. Decent.
Drink4Satan (478), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours a deep amber colour with a rocky coffee-coloured head. Minimal lacing. The nose is full of caramel, toffee and brown raisins with a veil of dust with some notes of aluminum. The flavour is vinous, musty and dry. It has a rich caramel, toffee and date flavour, but a thin finish and mouthfeel. The palate is silky smooth, lightly carbonated and pleasant, but its a tad thin. It’s very straight forward, but enjoyable. The hop characteristic is even low for a doppelock. Chia (25), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Oct 3, 2008 pours a cloudy deep amber with an inch thick creamy tan head. . has a caramel toffee aroma with undertones of prunes and raisins. Flavor is lackluster at first but snowballs into a nutty, fruity smooth unique taste. very little carbonation. emerica56 (481), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA Oct 3, 2008 Pours a thick tan head with a nut brown cloudy color. The nose is really bitter and full of fruits and caramel malt, i really like the sweet molasses and toffee as well. Initially it is very earthy and has some semi sweet flavors on the tip of your tongue. It is full of roasted nuts and dark fruits that coat your palate and leaves a nice lasting flavor in your mouth. Overall it is a refreshing brew full of flavor and carbonation. mgumby10 (1650), West Palm Beach, Florida, USA Sep 21, 2008 Pours a dark brown, with a small creamy light brown head. Smells pretty sweet and fruity. Lots of caramel malt, Dark dweet fruits, toffee and molasses as well. The flavor had a tosty texture to it, with noticeable roast, nuttiness, and sweetness on the backend. Light bitterness in the finish as well. Not overly flavorful, but nothing really wrong with it either that I noticed. Fairly standard, but enjoyable.
