500ml bottle form brewery’s online shop. Pours clear gold, thin, short-lived white head. Aromas of light citrus, something grainy. Taste is light sweet, decent citrus bitterness for the style. Clean finish. OK.

UPDATED: MAR 31, 2014 Tangerine and lemon citrus on the nose, pretty decent smelling. Taste has citrus with biscuit and butterly malt. Slightly piney notes in there too and a mild bitterness on the finish. So far the best Penpont beer I have had, really quite drinkable and nice, shame it’s a bit thin and watery which lets it down a bit.

Cask conditioned handpump Sun Hardingstone 06/12/13. A golden coloured beer. A standard beer. A bit thin in the nose. Nicely balanced in the mouth. Late orangey citrus notes. Palateable but plain.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear gold, lightly effervescent with a fine, creamy white head. Nose has some doughy white bread. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of doughy pale malts, some straw, cereal, dry lemon. Light bodied with fins carbonation. Simple doughy malt finish, lightly astringent, white bread, some lemon merengue.

Bottled, 500ml present from Sandra, thank you. Gold with white head. This beer had quite a sharp grainy, slightly stewed note initially. There is an earthy hop note, tree bark with a slight fungal character. Not one I would return to.

Cask, The Pub, Leicester. Golden brown with a bubbly foam. Aromas are caramel and grain with woody aspects. Black tea with nutty notes and vanilla. Oak with low lemon and yeast. Flavours are crisp lemon with dry biscuit and grain. Clean hops with woody, peanut notes. Bitter lemon to finish. Decent.

Gravity dispense at the Prince of Wales, Farnborough BF - 12/10/12. Mid amber with a thin off-white head. Caramel malt, toffee and a little nuttiness on the nose. Tastes of toffee, dark fruit, some hops. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation leading to a fruity bitter finish. Adequate bitter.

500ml bottle Mum and Dad brought me back from Cornwall. Bright orange with a slim white collar. Buttered orange, beeswax and pine aroma- pretty heavy on the butter, with an oily rub of hopcone. On the tongue faint mildew, apricot and piney hop with buttered white toast. Decent grassy finish, light bitterness and soap. Overly buttery but pleasant enough.
