Kind I weird. Definite clove. Like a hoppy hefe or something. Maybe a little tweaking would be good on this for me. But my two pals loved it. I just didn't find the flavor pairing to work with me. But you will have that. Go pRose!

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
2014 bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a small, fluffy white head and nice lacing. Aroma has coriander, sweet melon and bubblegum (very Belgian). The taste is predominantly a pine bitterness with only a hint of malt and some of the Belgian-like spiciness. Has a medium body with a well carbonated and semi-dry mouthfeel. Not particularly well balanced.

On draft at the brewery. My first visit and first sampling of what they have to offer. Nice golden color and very pleasant aroma. Very hoppy, seems a little much though. Hints of grapefruit with a bitter finish. OK, but I hope my next sampling of another offering is better.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Penrose makes excellent hoppy Belgians and this isn’t the best of the bunch but still a solid brew. It’s slightly hazed yellow golden with a creamy had of tight bubbles and big splotches of lace. I am getting big juicy banana up front and lots of lavender in the nose. It comes on mild at first but the spice and some citrus seem to perk up as it warms. Texture is slightly creamy with moderate carbonation. It finishes clean with maybe just a hair to much bitterness in the finish. Still, that is a small complaint at the worst. Overall, not my first choice from the brewery but still one I could drink every day.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a cloudy bright golden with a white head that settles to a nice film and leaves decent lacing. Aroma of light fruit and melon along with some bubblegum, citrus and a hint of coriander. Taste is similar with some perceived fruity sweetness, belgian yeast bubblegum, some citrus flavor and rind bitterness that mixes with a taste of earthy clove. Finishes dry with a lingering earthy bitterness. Light/medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Clean and well put together with hop flavors that help to support and tame the belgian yeast flavors.

Draft at penrose, probably my least favorite beer had here, smells like orange peels and farts, Flavors are rather citrusy with fair amount of coriander and spices, rather dry, didn’t really care for how this all came together.
