COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Pensacola Lighthouse is an icon for our hometown, and so is our Porter. For centuries, a light high above a tower has served as a beacon to sailors at sea. Even though we don’t keep the Lighthouse Porter on our roof, you’d be surprised at how many sailors seem to think it’s a sign!

The Gulf’s shallow waters can be treacherous. Without the Pensacola Lighthouse, who knows how many ships would have succumbed to a dark and foggy night? Find your way out of the dreary rat race and relax with the Lighthouse Porter

The Lighthouse Porter is flavorful, without being heavy. An enjoyable sipping beer, you’ll definitely find your way to shore with our Lighthouse Porter

Draft... Pours clear and dark with mahogany highlights and a small, creamy, off-white head. Good retention. The nose offers a blend of deep, dark mocha and roasted tree nuts. Medium to full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The flavor delivers on the aroma’s promise of bittersweet dark chocolate, espresso and toasted nuts. The finish trends roasty and bitter, but is nearly as sweet. Very nice!

22oz bottle in a teku. Pours near black with a big, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, some chocolate, some metallic notes, light dough, and a little bitterness. Flavor the same. Average texture. Not bad, has potential, needs to be refined.

poured from a 750 ml bottle at home has a brown pour with a thin tan head. Roasted coffee smell. Flavor is somewhere in the middle of okay and average. It doesnt taste like a typical porter, not a whole lot of flavor.

Really Good, Brewery is Gorgeous and clean! Porter has good flavor but not overpowering. Bartender needs to put more collar on the beer so that I can receive the porter mustache!

Draft at Brewfest. Cola brown pour with a thin tan head. Roasted, malty muted aroma. FLavor is pretty similar and dull with a bitter dry finish. It’s alright.

Taster at the brewery. Pours clear brown with a thin white head. Tastes malty and smokey, earthy and woody. Dry feel. Light bod and medium carbonation. Smells earthy and musky.

Tap at brewery. Pours tawny brown with creamy beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, light milk chocolate, light earthy notes, figs, and raisins. Flavor is dry, roast malts forward with supporting woody notes, earthy hop bitterness, and some dry dark fruit notes; dry, ashy finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

Had on tap in a pint glass. Pours a very dark brown, nearly pitch black, with a thick dark tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of dark roast coffee and roasted malt along with some dark fruit such as plums and raisins. Pretty nice but a little on the weak side. There is a touch of smoke in the flavor along with roasted malt and some coffee. The roast seems to go a little overboad, though, and the mouthfeel is quite chalky and watery. Just isn’t put together very well. Overall, I was really looking forward to this based on the appearance and aroma but the taste and mouthfeel kind of let me down. Just an ok beer.

DocJitsu (908) - Florida, USA - OCT 2, 2013
Pours a hazy, horehound candy-brown color with nearly no head at all. Some tan, rich lacing clings to the edge of the glass. Brown sugar and date nose. Mouthfeel is characterized by a medium body and some mild fizziness from carbonation. Some mild coffee flavor. Date and red apple fruitiness, with some bitterness toward the finish.
