Cask; Seasonal - Winter.
The very deep red, practically black stout has a huge list of ingredients, include Crystal, pale and black malts, torrefied flake barley and Soveriegn, Northdown, Fuggles and Amarillo hops. It’s left in cask for three months before it goes out to the drinking public.

Gravity @ Pigs Ear 2012. The pour’s deep brown with no head whatsoever. The nose is roasted malts, some chocolate, cream and gateau. Rich, sweet aromas. The taste is chocolate cake, more roasted malts. Smooth, supple cocoa and a bit of vanilla. Silky mouthfeel, fat body. Overall, a really nice stout. One of the beers of the festival!

Near black. The aroma has a lot of chocolate - quite desserty. The taste is like a chocolate liqeur, just rich milk chocolate. Lots of sugars and light alcohol note in the finish.

Cask @ the brewpub (Star Inn). Black with excellent thick, natural head. The aroma is rich and all about the chocolate. The flavors are dry and chocolatey and it’s really really good with lots of cocoa and Kahlua. Wow--impressive.
