3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2012 Bottle to pint (thanks jmborggren). Looks decent; dark for an IPA though. A deep, hazy burnt-orange with thin white lacing. Smells a little hoppy and a lot (caramel) malty. Tastes like it smells with an average mouthfeel and a dry finish for an IPA. Not bad.
Note: I tried this on draft at the brewery in December and found it much tastier, but I’m sticking with my original review for scoring purposes.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
8/11/12. GTMW. Amber pour with a small khaki head. Bitter, hoppy aroma with plenty of citrus and a touch of cat pee in there. Rich hoppy flavor with lots of citrus and pine on top of a definite caramel malt aspect. Not bad.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pour from a 12 oz bottle. Darker amber brew, off white head, good lacing. Aroma of malt, earth, and citrus hops. Taste is sweet malts with the hops rolloing in later in the swallow. Very respectable floral and citrus hops with a bit of earth in the background. Solid IPA that strikes the malt / hops balance a bit in favor of malt, with a very pleasing result.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at People’s. Pours an attractive orangey-amber with an off white head that persists. Nose is strongly citrusy, a bit dank and clean. Faint caramel notes come through as well. Floral. On tasting, big bitterness with pungent, fresh hops. The caramel is present but manages to stay restrained. Really clean and balanced. Quite a nice IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at End of the Line, Indy. Another pretty nice local IPA, this one with a very potent, dry nose atop a handsome cloudy orange body. Flavor had a bunch more fruit, with a serious orange peel and bubble gum quality that I enjoyed very much. Not as good as Alpine but a similar corner of the flavor world.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draught at Tomilson Tap Room. Light caramel and light malt build. Nice bittering to the taste and really good hop aroma with flora and pine. Tasty.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pushes the limits on the IPA style guidelines. Probably too dark. But this is a tasty brew and one I get a lot around town.
Pours a nice copper with a white head. Good lacing.
Aroma isn’t huge, but noticeable. Has the distinct Lafayette, IN water character in the background.
Flavor is pretty well balanced with a distinct and clean bitterness mixed with malt flavor. The Lafayette water is again noticeable (we have lots of sulfur, hardness, and alkalinity).
Overall this is a very good brew with a noticeable local flavor that we get from the water here.

Hazy amber with a frothy brown/tan head and plenty of lace. Aroma is semi-dank with floral hops and sweet malt. Taste of caramel, floral hops, moderate bitterness and a touch of warming.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 ounce bottle pours a rich copper color with a creamy frothy head, aromas of pine, grapefruit juice, and a touch of malt. Flavors are the same as aromas, little sweetness at end to cut the bitteerness.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Deep copper-amber pour with a toffee colored head. Nose is rich caramel, some pine, herbs and flowers, with a little grapefruit. Taste is a lot of bitter with a fair amount of sweet that grows with warmth. Palate is medium bodied, kind of oily with a lengthy finish. Really nice IPA, one to savor rather than plow through. Nice.
