American Style India Pale Ale. We used an American base malt with the addition of Caramalt to give this now classic style a redish hue. Mound Builder includes an aggressive use of Columbus hops, which is a high alpha hop with a full flavor profile, and Centennial hops. The beer is also dry-hopped with Amarillo hops, which is a citrusy hop with notes of orange and grapefruit. People’s Mound Builder IPA is a hoppy, yet smooth American twist on the English IPA

Another small brewery starting to distribute! How awesome is that?! Decent aroma, nice copper color but lacks a head or lacing I would like to see in an IPA. Taste is nothing to brag about....seems like a cookie cutter IPA. Nice moth feel, leaves a lot of bitter in the end. Overall, not a bad beer. I wouldn’t run out to buy it buy I enjoy it. I hope the other beers come to my local shop. I would like to try the others!

Can to tulip. Hazy orange amber with an average white head and good lacing. Aroma is dank pine and citrus. Taste is pine, citrus, and caramel. Thinner and dry. Pretty average.

This is a pretty old school IPA w/ some crystal malt character to it. It’s pretty fresh tasting and works reasonably well. It’s clear and amber w/ a foamy head. It has orange peel and toasted malt in the nose and tastes about the same w/ a bit of sweetness and some hefty earthy bitterness in the finish. It’s a bit sweet and heavy but does back this up w/ some actual malt character so I guess it’s OK overall.

NYD, just do yourself a favor and stay away from people’s stuff. Taste is just very sub par on this one. You like so many IPAs better than this one. Get those instead at the store or restaurant. If at a restaurant and no other micros are available... Get water. It’s healthy and won’t disappoint you.

Nice reddish color. Aroma of hops and fairly intense raisiny caramels. Taste lives up to complex aroma. Very good English/American IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is citrus/fruit, spices and slightly odd perfumed. The flavor is citrus, fruit, malts and a little too much bitterness in the finish.

12 ounce can
Initially I picked this up because of the novel can design which peels off to form an aluminum container for future beers. The quality of the beer was an added bonus. I wish more microbreweries would can this way to make tailgates more enjoyable.

Aroma / Appearance - Caramel brown liquid pours lightly into a shaker. An ochre head builds quickly if dumped aggressively. Warm melons, grapefruit, and resin float into the air with a bright resiny aspect. The effect reminds me of a malt driven English style IPA.

Flavor / Palate - Clean bitterness tickles the palate. Caramel, resin, and grapefruit scour the tongue clean. Orange peels carry into a sticky dry finish. I think I will try to share the rest with other local beer lovers while they retain that fresh nature. You too should grab some while passing through Indiana.

12 ounce can compliments of Trent! A cloudy orange rusty look to it with a big head of creamy, vs, billowy foam. Great lacing. The nose is big on grapefruit and pine. Somewhere, deep down, I get hints of some malt character. Well, the malt showed up in the taste with a nice smooth bite(haha) of caramel. It goes beautifully with the aggressive pine and grapefruit. This *almost* tastes like a 2 or 3 year old Bigfoot. Don’t laugh. The body here is pretty big; another resemblance to the beer I mentioned above. Well, I’m pretty damned impressed with this IPA. Very damned impressed!

Nice attention to citrus hop aroma. Thank you. Head is thin and quickly fades. Taste is slight hops with a prominent bitterness. Bitterness builds but so does sweetness. Both are forefront. Overall a decent beer for a hop head who likes bitterness and pine with a sweet ending mouthfeel.
