3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 tmongoose (703) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 19, 2012
12oz bottle. Poured dark brown with tan colored carbonated head lots of bubbles. Aroma I get a mild roasted malt scent along with some bitter either from coffee or chocolate. The flavor is of a deeper richer roasted malt. There is bitterness about half way thru the mouth feel. This is a medium tonight bodied beer. For brown ale not to bad.

From Growler. Pours, well, brown. Relatively little head. Faint nose of coffee and malt. Roasted flavors blend with bitter hops and warm malt. Decent amount of carbonation with a lingering warmth and bitterness. Very respectable beer from a young brewery.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 hotstuff (3350) - Indiana, USA - FEB 11, 2011
Draft. Small tan head that was mostly lasting, no visible carbonation, fair amount of lacing, and a brown hue. The aroma was malty, nutty and earthy hops. Ditto for the flavor. The mouthfeel was tingly and this is a medium bodied beer. Overall, the hops were more upfront than the malts considering this is a Brown Ale which caught me off guard. That being said, I truly enjoyed drinking this beer as it is definitely worthy of a try and one I would drink again.

Sample at GTMW. Brown like a stout with a great nutty, roasty aroma and a little hoppiness. Very smooth, drinkable brew. 7% ABV but wasn’t readily apparent.......a good thing!!! It was a hot day in Madison last Saturday, and I can’t wait to try this brew during football season. Great stuff from Peoples Brewing.

Draft fest sample. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate sweet nutty aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a smooth sweet finish that lasted. This beer would go well with a good cigar.

Brown pour with an off white head. Aroma is light and sweet. Light body and flavor. Not as malty as I had expected.

tap at Indiana winterfest - Pours medium brown with a small tan head. There’s a caramel malt aroma. Flavor is the expected caramel malt with good roastiness and a robust taste that makes this medium bodied brown ale work well.
