The taste is sweet followed by an earthy bitterness, very well balanced. An enjoyable brown ale, but not really worthy of four-pack treatment.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a moderate tan head on it. Nose some some roasting to it with a slight malty sweetness coming through underneath. Taste is actually a little toasty with some elements of coffee to it. Definitely has a bit to it, but is fairly inviting. Interesting...

Really a very remarkable brown ale. Stronger than normal and heavier in flavors. Has a roast and chocolate quality more akin to a stout than what is found in most brown ales. Very nice!

I would have called this one Mr. Black since pretty much no light can pierce it through the pint glass. Very malty, a little chocolatey, and a bit oily consistency. Tastes and looks kind of like a toned-down imperial stout more than a brown ale to me. Very good overall, I was kind of disappointed I just got a single after trying this one.

Courtesy of x_Rex (reddit trader), thanks Corey. Pours a murky brown (almost like brown chalk) with a tan head that leaves just a little lacing behind. Aromas are weak but basically what you would expect from a brown, malt, bread, maybe some chocolate. Flavor is like a BIG brown ale, with lots of roasty malts and some bittersweet chocolate, just a pinch of floral hops. The mouthfeel is perfect for a brown, not sticky or thick like a stout or porter. I don’t usually like browns but I can dig this one as it is big enough to keep my interest.

Poured a deep brown color into a sampler glass. Very soothing beer that tasted very malty/sweet. Not my favorite type of beer, but an enjoyable one nonetheless.

Bottle. Pours a ruby color with little head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Decent balance finish with slight bitterness. Higher abv than most browns I'm accustomed to but no complaint. It warmed me on a cold Early March night!

Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is dark brown.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, chocolate, toasted grain), lightly hoppy (herbs), with a note of brown sugar.
Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery/syrupy texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic.
Reasonably pleasant nose if a bit simple and mild. Too syrupy sweet in the mouth to drink very much. Overall average.
