2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Dark red-brown, thick head in my Leffe glass. Weak malty aroma. Flavour is malty and sweet, but also soap and bit metallic flavour (no it's not the glass). Bitter finish. Avoid, for there is so much better in the world of dubbels.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark reddish-brown collor, giant creamy head. Aroma of chocolate malts, some fruits. When i took a sip of skortila's 'pere abbe bruin' it tasted very metallic and acidic, but mine today is very nice actually, more chocolate malty and sweet. Sweet and sticky palate.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Weak aroma; malty sweet and fruity. Hazy, red-brown coloured with a creamy off-white head. Malty sweet fruity taste with a bitter finish. Not really adding something to the belgian beer heritage, like the rest af the Père Abbé's.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
dark reddish-brown colour, giant creamy head, malty, chocolate aroma with light notes of dark fruits, smooth and quite thin-bodied, aggressiv acidity, tart, very dry and rough finish - not really pleasant

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Dark brown beer with a small head. Strong roasted bread and light malt aroma. Rather thin, light bitter taste with a bitter aftertaste. No, the Pere Abbe series is not up to normal Belgian standard.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark-brown with reddish shine. Thick, very irregular head with big bubbles. Caramel, mocca, soap, and maybe some malt in the nose. Not roasted, but burnt malt. A meaty taste, like aspic from a meat-pastry. The yeast, no doubt. The 'slight bitterness' is there immediately. Harsh finish, burnt. Medium-bodied. there is a commercial description, bordering on the cynical. It's not really bad.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
A very yeasty Belgian Bruin. It is drinkable, but the heavy yeast notes are not very nice. I will not buy this again.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
The best beer from Pere Abbe. Not as cloying as the other beers. Drinkable but not brilliant. Also this is a little yeasy and wheaty.
