Tart, fruity, and slightly spicy with some sweetness. Pretty complex, and overall good. Strong flavors of pear, and banana-like notes from the Belgian yeast. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of Onyboy... Color is tan orange, thin whitish head... Aroma of pears, apples... Flavor is earthy, grainy with prominent notes of pear initially, with a peppery yeasty finish on the palate... Pretty good, definitely enjoyable.. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Almost golden, almost burnt orange. Bit fizzy, but not much of a head. The aroma hints at applesauce, but once onto the tongue, this definitely has a tart pear character, super green pears at that. The sage adds a funky little herbal edge. Quite unique. (#5400, 12/30/2013)

Draft. Pours orange with a white head. Light fruity base, some spicy and earthy/herbal notes, and faint peppery notes. I don’t know what white sage is. I do what what pears are. Anyway, this beer was pretty good.

Pours hazy thicker orange and golden with a small head that is gone quickly. Aroma is light warm pear fruitiness matched with sweeter malts. Flavor brings pear showcasing here, with some spice from the sage up front that settles quickly into the fruit. It is balanced quite well.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a cloudy golden orange with a decent white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast, floral, and sage. Taste is pears, citrus, yeast, sage, floral, and spice. Nice.

Cloudy gold pour, white head. Sage is present but subdued perfectly, the pears play well with the yeast and sage...hints of sweet and tart. Incredibly well constructed IMO. Enjoyable.

12/14/2013. 750 ml. bottle. Amber color with a white head. Funky aromas with yeast, dough, spices. A little sour with yeasty flavors, caramel, citrus, light fruit, spices. Medium carbonation. Not my favorite, but interesting.

phaleslu (6343) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - DEC 8, 2013
750 ml bottle from Parker’s Table. Pours a dull pear juice color with a big white head. Aroma of pears, sugar, dough, sage, florals, ginger, citrus, funk, and cream. Flavor of pears, sourdough, sage, ginger, straw, and grass. Light-bodied, with a dry, funky, floral mouthfeel and light-moderate carbonation. Does not at all seem like a 9.3% big Belgian. Really unusual beer.

On tap at Hops and Pie poured a cloudy gold with a small lasting white head. Aromas of straw, pear, citrus and a hint of sage. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry lightly tart finish. Flavors of straw, pear, light citrus, light barnyard funk and a hint of sage with a crisp dry lightly tart lingering pear finish.
