Draft from the taproom. Pours black with a rich tan head. Nose is dark chocolate and mint. Taste is big time mint and big time chocolate, but they work so well together. Mint does not come across as sharp or intrusive as it sometimes can. Great beer, especially in 5oz-at-a-time pours.

sample from new batch bottle, pored nose is slight roast, sweet chocholate, but that’s all fairly masked. the mint is just dominating. after eight cookies, peppermint, and fresh toothpaste. we had the barrel aged version a while ago, which was pretty enjoyable, and not as heavy on the on mint. this is just hard to finish.

2.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Black pour with no head. Earthy mint and black roast fill the nose. The flavor is a bit roasty and bitter, a touch acrid, and overly earthy minty. It’s a bit bitter and herbal for my taste with not quite enough chocolate sweetness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells like a thin mint, milk chocolate with a hint of mint. Pours a dark black color with a short lasting tan well laced head. Tastes like a thin mint with an oily medium body and a bitter malt finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Harry’s Hofbrau. Pours near black with tan head that lingers nicely. Both the taste and aroma (especially taste) exhibit too much mint. The mint has a fake tasting aspect to it that is rather unpleasing. Slight alcohol warming present.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Perennial 17 on tap at Finn’s Manor. A deep black with a rusty tan head, the mint chocolate nose attracts and the beer delivers a flavor of thin mints all the way. Fun stuff

Bottle, sat on since 2013. Apologies to the beer gods. Pours opaque black, small brown head, dissipates fairly quickly, minimal residual or lacing. Aroma is cocoa, mint roasted malts. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, mint, cocoa, coffee, brown sugar. Medium body, creamy.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to Rejetable for this. Pours velvet black with a small beige head. Aroma is after eight. Peppermint, dark chocolate and a burn of alcohol. Taste is really nice for the first 3-4 sips. Peppermint, dark chocolate. This would be great as a digestif, served in a small snifter to just put an exclamation point on a good meal. This though looses it’s splendor after half a glass. Needs to be small amounts.
