Bottle in a trade thanks a lot to D4radio!! 2013 shared with a good friend. Poured pitch Black with a Nice mocha head. Incredible aroma! Lots of cinamon, roasted malts, vanilla, dark chocolate, hints of peppers, incredible thick and shewy mouthfeel! Some more peppers when it warms up! Would love to try the BA version!! Hard to say but i think hunahpu is a bit better.

Bottle: Beyond black, topped with a latte-like mocha colored crema. Aroma is loaded with cinnamon, probably the most notable adjunct here. More of a smooth, sweet cinnamon, though, rather than too spicy or harsh. Light chilies, sweet cocoa malt, graham cracker, brown sugar, dark chocolate... Lots going on here. Big cinnamon potpourri finish. Taste begins with wonderfully sweet chocolate with infused cinnamon, graham cracker, & a balancing dry roast from the malt. Sweet cinnamon stick, liquid vanilla, & brown sugar finish with just a light touch of the chilies. The chilies are more about the flavor, as there’s literally no heat presence on my palate. Eloquently done, this is a great spiced stout.

Bottle... Pours death-black with little to no head. The nose is a luxuriant (and inexplicable) marriage of dark chocolate and deeply-roasted peanuts. Full-bodied and ultra-creamy with soft carbonation. The flavor is a tangle of peanuts, charcoal, tobacco, burnt malts and dark-chocolaty malts. Peanuts and carbon in the finish. Bottle courtesy of biggsbowler!

750ml bottle at brewers republic, cos. Strong cinnamon aroma with notes of chocolate and a hint of chilies. Pours black with a thin light brown head and no lacing. Taste is rich chocolate malt with notes of chilies. Finishes smooth with a strong cinnamon and dry finish. Delightful.

On tap at Tap and Handle. Pours black with a bubbly tan head and a treacle and pepper aroma. There is a chocolate flavor with some cinnamon and mild chili pepper. Complex and very tasty.

750, shared with only one other person. OH EM GEE. This is a cinnamon bomb. But as dontdrinkbeer says. Don’t be a bitch about the cinnamon. A thinner less flavorful than hunaphu, some chillis in the there at the very end.

Pre-DLD bottle share at Hampton Inn. Pour is deep brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of semi-sweet chocolate, roasted marshmallow, coffee grounds, cinnamon, and slight chili. Finish is sticky sweet with a slight spice and alcohol warmth. Great.

It aint no huna but its aight in my book. Cinnamon and chilis are the dominant flavors with the chocolate not very present. The base beer flavors are licorice, a bit of burnt toast and some caramel. Finishes quite sweet and cinnamon forward. Overall a really nice beer.

Served alongside Cigar City Hunahpu’s. The beer is black and viscous with an oily beige collar. Aromas of heavy cinnamon with some peppery heat. Vanilla and chocolate are there as well, but in the background a bit. Really nice flavor, with cinnamon leading the way. Rich, roasted malt with hints of coffee. Thick body with a delicate sweetness throughout. While Hunahpu’s still reigns supreme, in my opinion, Abraxas is certainly a delicious and well crafted beer well worth seeking out.
