4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
thought we were getting something akin to Cocoa Mole, which I have thoroughly enjoyed more than once of late...then i looked closer. the cocoa, chillies, cinnamon was the same, but a 10% impy stout? Sweet! wonderful aroma, big chewy smooth body. tons of cocoa with very subtle heat (and a subtle back o the mouth sweetness from the chillies) and a dash of spice. this is an awesome beer! makes me want to try more from them for sure."

Poured from bottle to glass. Opaque hue with creamy brown head that lingered. Aroma is huge chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, peppers, coffee, slight soy. Mouthfeel is fantastic with a full body and zesty carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout with a slightly astringent following and a nice ethanol finish. Overall this is an amazing chocolate stout!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Beyond black, topped with a latte-like mocha colored crema. Aroma is loaded with cinnamon, probably the most notable adjunct here. More of a smooth, sweet cinnamon, though, rather than too spicy or harsh. Light chilies, sweet cocoa malt, graham cracker, brown sugar, dark chocolate... Lots going on here. Big cinnamon potpourri finish. Taste begins with wonderfully sweet chocolate with infused cinnamon, graham cracker, & a balancing dry roast from the malt. Sweet cinnamon stick, liquid vanilla, & brown sugar finish with just a light touch of the chilies. The chilies are more about the flavor, as there’s literally no heat presence on my palate. Eloquently done, this is a great spiced stout.
