Nice taste and aroma. It is a little too roasted for my taste

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Churchkey. Rich, velvety black pour with a beige head. Nose and flavor bring beautiful chocolate, spice in both the warming and hot characteristics, coffee, and roasted malt. The heat is beautifully subdued, providing just a tertiary touch of complexity on both the nose and palate. Not quite as thick as expected, but nuanced and gorgeous. The barrel really did make this beer a work of art and an absolute masterpiece, but the base beer certainly doesn’t suck.

Bottle pours a rich dark brown with a dark tan head. The aroma is a little spicy, with cinnamon. The taste is very rich, smooth with a full body. I get the cacao nibs not too much alcohol in the finish. After taste of cinnamon. Pretty good imperial stout.

Tap. Frothy dark tan head, jet black body. Cinnamon, coffee, roast, chocolate and cinnamon all in the aroma. Flavor is very similar, cinnamon, spice, prickly heat left on the tongue from the chili. Big velvety body. Nice brew

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Had this beer a few times, but as its aging- the cinnamon is coming out more and more- which is making it, for me at least, less and less enjoyable .. . pours a very dark brown .. . foam level is impressive .. . where do you come from!?! .. . dark chocolate, sweet tar, chcolate syrup, mild spice, and quite a bit of cinnamon .. . mouth is full, and relatively complex .. . not bad but not sure of the train behind this .. . . If it makes you feel better, there is no way a guidebook would come with a chapter on molested dogs..

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a deep, thick black with a slowly rising dark brown head that just keeps building. Aromas of chocolate, lots of chocolate. Some coffee. No chili detected in huge nose. Taste is similar but with the addition of some light heat from the peppers. Very similar to Huna. Also, very good. Could chug this all night, honestly. 750ml in under 2 minutes? You bet.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Roasthouse Pub in Frederick, MD. Served in a snifter glass, deep dark brown with dark tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, brown sugar, char, spices (mainly cinnamon) and slight chilli pepper. Taste is very chocolate heavy, some hot spices, vanilla, dark fruit with earthy hop balance. Heavy body, low carbonation, creamy, intense, thick, oily with heavy sweet spicy finish. Very good flavored IS, want to find a bottle.
