Nice brown pour. Great golden brown head. Nice taste and aroma. It is a little too roasted for my taste

Bottle in line for Blåbær ’15. Pitch black with a tan head. Lots of cinnamon, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and some sweet malts. Light burn on the finish.

big brown pour. Aroma molasses, ginger soil big cinnamon, chinese cola dandelion. Tastes bitter herbs chinese cola. chocolate is minimal/ ends up being woody. dry boozy palate alcohol pretty well hidden. really out there for a imperial stout of any sort. Doesn’t hold very close the the Mexican hot chocolate thing either. This is Perennial in full twisted herbal/spice pantry glory.

2014 Bottle. Pours a very deep dark brown with a medium sudsy tan head. Aromas burst out with sweet malts, cinnamon, clove, chocolate, vanilla. Flavor was mild coffee, chocolate, tons of cinnamon, clove, vanilla. Pretty much followed the nose for me. Only knock was that it did have a boozy tast/ burn to it. At 10%, I know it may be expected, but I’ve had others that hid it better for me. Still, an amazing beer and near perfect. Full body, creamy texture, good bubbly carbonation, long finish with alcohol heat.

I’m usually a huge imperial Stout fan, and had never tired any of Perennial’s brews, so I was excited to grab a sample at World of Beer Fest. It was disappointing. Not a fan of the spiciness particularly from the chilis; the chocolate flavor was good; the cinnamon taste was muted but didn’t do much to enhance the flavor.

5 ounce sample on tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Aroma has some spicy cinnamon at first. Followed by lots of boozy ethanol. Mild sweet cocoa powder is present, too. Mildly transparent dark mahogany body with a small, tan head. Start with sweet CHOCOLATE MILK. Lots of chocolate milk...Finishes warming and spicy with a pepper kick. Not too spicy, however. Just warm. Interesting stuff.

You can taste the cinnamon on this one. It stood out during a bottle share of stout whales.

Black pour. Tan head, small. Little bit of lacing. Chocolate and fig, malty aroma. Chocolate taste with a slight spicy note. Creamy smooth.

Draft at Monks. Deep dark black pour with an impressively thin wide sheet of beige lace. Good Stout flavors with an interesting balance of sweet dark malts, hops and spicy peppers. Liquorice. Graham crackers. Nice big smoky charcoal grill flavors. Black leather jacket. Tinge of sour. The peppery spiciness builds over time. Great stuff, but ruins the palate.

On tap during Madison Craft Beer Week. Dark black body. Big cinnamon spice aroma. Umm, Cinnamon Toast Crunch in a glass? Ok, so not everybody agreed with me on that statement, but to me this beer tasted like the the milk left in the bowl after eating all the Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Really wonderful.
