Draft pour on tap at Beer Under Glass 2013 (Chicago, IL). Pours a well hazed amber gold hue, dulled and darker some good haze. Gentle glow and small frothy whitish head atop dies to a film, laces small. Aromas are firm brett, cobwebs and pineapple, a bit of spice, dust, and bready malts. A touch sticky, pear and dough with a bit of toastiness. Initial is lighter end of medium bodied, a bit spicy and dusty, some cobwebs, funk, gentle pineapple. Gentle spiciness, yeasty feel grows firmly into the middle and backend. A touch of sweeter dough, honeycomb, apple and pear. A bit more spicy, bretty and dry as we round up. A touch carmelized, apple, and pear. Firm bretty and yeasty vibe. Solid, decent bretty influencce transforms this a bit.

Copper, with a sizey beige head. Smells nice - rosewater, pineapple, and some funky aromas, too. Taste is very sweet and floral, plus some notes of citrus and a hint of sour. Thanks to theisti for the trade!

The aroma of this beer is sweet bread yeast and some sour fruitiness, and the color of the beer was a hazy amber with a white ring around the surface. The taste is slightly sweet, slightly sour, and a touch bitter, and the palate was enjoyable due to the medium body, slick texture, soft carbonation, and abrupt finish.

750mL for $13 at Magruder’s of Chevy Chase. Pours clear amber. Medium, dense creamy white foam. Decent lacing. No heavy carbonation as expected. Nose holds zero Brett funk, cedar, freshness. Just plain caramel and bready malt. Hints of phenolic yeast. Taste is similar :no funk, just bready malt. Hints of herbal spiciness and medicinal cherry give this the "Belgian" character perhaps. Still candy forward and sticky. Disappointing. In fact, pretty much scam material.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazed copper orange color with a thick, small bubbled light tan head. Sweet floral aroma with a touch of alcohol. Notes of orange and lemon as well. Medium mouthfeel. I think this comes together nicer than what some of the scores represent. Smooth, slightly sweet up front with the Belgian esters coming through. Orange and slight banana. Ends pretty cleanly. Would be nice to see this a little more Brett forward, maybe some age would bring out some additional notes.

Apple cider, apricots, white grapes, banana, clove, and straw aromas. Slightly hazy orange-gold with a fairly retaining, white head. Dry, fruity, funky, and a little spicy. Medium bodied with light but zippy carbonation, and finishes with lingering flavors of dried fruit and funky earth.

It poured a deep gold color with a small white head. The aroma was of light sweeet malt and light spice notes, with a hint of bananas and light hop hints. The taste was similar with a little spiciness. Good stuff.
