Draft to wine glass at Perennial’s Third Anniversary Party. Looks good; a slightly translucent dark coffee with tan head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, roast, oak, and a touch of bourbon. Tastes like it smells, but richer, with an incredibly smooth mouthfel, especially with such a strong coffee presence. Outstanding.

This is really good, my only problem is having had the Abraxas right before it. Pours black with great head and lacing. Coffee, thick consistency. Dark chocolate, lots of roast. Some barrel, but well-integrated. Tap at Snallygaster.

On tap at the snallygaster beer event in dc it is a thick dark brown color with a slight head. The aroma is coffee and the taste is roasted coffee with a long lasting taste that remains on the palate. Yummy!!!

On tap at Brasserie V’s Great Taste Eve party - Pours black with a tan ring of head. Nose is lots of sweet bourbon with molasses and coffee grounds. Well-balanced. Taste is more bourbon than coffee--sweet, with molasses and coffee grounds faint on the finish.Slick, thick, and not that much carbonation. Pretty tasty, but the bourbon-forward aspect overpowers and makes it a little one-dimensional.

Bottle: Thanks, Tim. Pours black & oily; an abyss with a mocha, leathery foam covering the top nicely. Aroma of deep, roasted coffee beans, oily & lightly charred with undercurrents of dark cacao & a mild creamy element that brings through a nice, soft sweetness for balance. Lots of delicious coffee on the taste; smooth, roasted, but not acrid at all. Some scorched brown sugar, hints of bourbon soaked & spicy oak, & dense coffee throughout. A hint of bitter cocoa dust & dark chocolate in the finish as well; nice, creamy body. A very nice barrel aged stout & a good improvement over the base (which is already quite good).
