Barrel-aged coffee stout from Perennial using a Columbia roasted by Scott at Sump Coffee. Region: Timbio, Columbia. Varietal: Castillo, Caturra. Altitude: 1600-1900 M. From: Various small holders. Fully washed, sun dried.

On tap at Perennial, pours pitch black with a dark brown head and lacing in the glass, the aroma was of heavy bourbon, oak and vanilla with a touch of the coffee and chocolate coming through, the flavor has a big bourbon front end with coffee again showing in the finish, tastes bigger than 10.5% to me.

Bottle, thanks to Ryan. Near black pour. No head. Milk chocolate, vanilla, roast. Coffee isnít really present, which surprises me. Toast, some bourbon and coconut. Full body, soft carb, oily texture. Overall: surprisingly just ... <shrug>.

Bottle thanks to Daknole! Pours inky black, large dark brown head that is a bit fizzy at the beginning, but settles down to leave nice residual and lacing. Aroma is whiskey, roasted malts, some chocolate, mocha. Flavor is medium sweet, medium bitter, lots of mocha flavors, whiskey, anise, deep roasty notes. Some astringence, from a combo of coffee and barrel, I would assume. Medium plus body, a bit creamy. Lingering heat from the ABV. Solid, not amazing.

Black/brown pour with lite tan head and lace. Aroma is dominated by chocolate, coffee, and a oaky/vanilla presence. Flavor is Sweet chocolate, coffee, roastiness, and oaky. Medium bodied with good smooth carbonation. wow

This is really good, my only problem is having had the Abraxas right before it. Pours black with great head and lacing. Coffee, thick consistency. Dark chocolate, lots of roast. Some barrel, but well-integrated. Tap at Snallygaster.

Fantastic French roast aroma great stout imperial characteristics in mouthfeel and coffe taste. Rich big foamy head. Excellent flavor. Some alcohol heat that added to the whole experience. Love it.

Draft to wine glass at Perennialís Third Anniversary Party. Looks good; a slightly translucent dark coffee with tan head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells of dark malt, roast, oak, and a touch of bourbon. Tastes like it smells, but richer, with an incredibly smooth mouthfel, especially with such a strong coffee presence. Outstanding.

2013 bottle. Black with thin brown head that clings. Nose of bourbon, chocolate, vanilla, coffee. Tastes of bourbon, chocolate, coffee. Coffee is very muted at this point. A hint of bitterness. Still quite good after 18 months.

shared bottle by a friend. poured a pitch black colour with a very small mocha coloured head, compared to the regular sump there was just a small hint of roasted coffe in this one, but ofcourse barrel and whisky notes. a small vanilla hint, dark chocolate, roasted malts, itís again a real big monster of a stout of perennial! but for a coffe stout i was looking for a big strong coffe hint just like the regular sump! i think i liked the regular just a bit more as this one
