COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In late January, we held a funky, wild night of a total Brett Takeover here in the tasting room. Along with an entire evening of Brett beers, Brewmaster Phil Wymore and Brewmaster Chase Healy of Prairie Artisan Ales collaborated on a beer. The result of their labor is Dual Artisanship, a hoppy red Saison! Centennial, Simcoe, and Citra combine with a secondary Brett fermentation creatiing a big, tropical juciness followed by a dry, funky finish.

Bottle from Beer Junction in west Seattle. Colour...hazy light gold with a thin head. Nose...fruity, lightly bretty and fresh with peach cobbler and cinnamon. Palate...frothy, zesty and dry with field dust, light citrus and fruit purée. The mid palate and finish are dry and sappy.

Bottle, shared at poker. Very hazy orange-gold, lasting off white head. Aroma is hay, light florals, light citrus, light funk. Delicate palate, flavours of hay and field flowers, funk, a kiss of tangerine, dry finish. I could drink this all night.

Lively carbonation; thinnish body. Bright with lots of citrus aromas. Light malt flavors of (hay, grains), and only a faint, honey-like sweetness. Pepper note kind of overpowers the other subtleties in the beer. Pinch of funk in the background. Overall, it’s not a bad saison by any means, though I thought it lacked some depth.

750 ml bottle.

I was excited to try this one. Pours orange with a decent head and lots of lacing. The nose is straight-ahead brett, a fair amount of bread and some citrus peel from the centennial, along with some tropicals from the simcoe. The citra comes on strong in the flavor--I was surprised not to see it listed on the side of the bottle since it was so clearly there, along with some simcoe juiciness. An interesting combo, but unfortunately, it doesn’t really click. Too much hop juiciness for a saison. Pretty nice to drink but not a standout like you might hope for from the combined talents of these two brewers.

Bottle - Perfumy, lemon and orange with some grass. Clear gold with a rich white head. Perfumy, light herbal notes and some citrus with a grassy bitterness. Nice.
