In late January, we held a funky, wild night of a total Brett Takeover here in the tasting room. Along with an entire evening of Brett beers, Brewmaster Phil Wymore and Brewmaster Chase Healy of Prairie Artisan Ales collaborated on a beer. The result of their labor is Dual Artisanship, a hoppy red Saison! Centennial, Simcoe, and Citra combine with a secondary Brett fermentation creatiing a big, tropical juciness followed by a dry, funky finish.

12oz pour at PPD. Pours a hazy amber with some clumpy white head. Nose has some candy sugar, a little red pear, some wood pulp, some orange rind, some cardboard. Flavor is lightly bitter, some orange rind, some bread crust, buttery, some butterscotch, some yeast, lightly earthy. Clean finish. Interesting.

On draft at Perennial. This beer was coppery and on the dark side of that color. An interesting malty and funky fruity aroma. The flavor is fruity and somewhat sour. Interesting stuff. Floral notes and a bit of funk, but really just a bit. More sourness. Something tropical at towards the finish.

Draft at Perennial, served in a tulip. Pours a clear dark orange color, a little bit of a red tint in there but not much, with a small off-white head that settles into a ring. Aroma of fruity, spicy funk up front, grassy and floral and citrusy hops, some earth. The fruits are tropical, citrusy, and a little tart. The flavor follows the same lines, with a subtle spiciness throughout. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation that has some sharpness on the back. Light, but spicy, funky, tart mouthfeel. Good red saison.

Sampled at the W&C Beer Fest 2014. Nice generous pour. It poured a light copper color with a white head. The aroma was of some funk with fruit, yeast, hops and some citrus notes. The taste was similar to the aroma, with some toasty smoothness, more fruit and floral hops with a funky backend. Very tasty.
