4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DuffMan (5247) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, - NOV 11, 2012Bottle, shared with my lovely wife. Very very dark brown, copper-red highlights. Huge roast on the nose, huge, with sweet undertones but not specifically coconut. The coconut does come through in th palate though, in a natural non-sweet way, like coconut milk. There is a distinct lactic sweetness that smoothes out the hearty robust burnt malt. Quite sweet and chocolatey. Very full bodied, velvety mouthfeel. Just really delicious, a big surprise!

on tap Very dark brown almost black with a fizzy light tan head that quickly fades to a ring. Aroma of chocolate, coconut, black malt and vanilla. Flavor is sweet milk chocolate, coconut, vanilla and light roasted coffee. Full body with a thick, lush mouth feel. This is a very good beer, lots of chocolate, coconut and vanilla with just the right amount of sweetness

Bottle. Pours a black color with tan head. Lactose, coconut aromas. Tangy, coconut, chocolate flavors. Pretty tangy, seems a little off. Probably my least favorite Perennial beer that I’ve had.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 adnielsen (6553) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - JUN 9, 2013
Bottle in KC, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a dark brown/black appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty malty, coconut milky, a touch minty, chocolate/coffee aroma. Tangy, sort of spicy/minty, a bit fruity (strange), chocolate milky flavor. Honestly, the flavor seems a little messed up.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Strykzone (3866) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 6, 2013
Draft at Bigelo’s. The looks like a big dangerous stout but it drinks so smooth. Coconut, chocolate, roasted coffee notes, dark fruit, lactic. This was so interesting and so smooth. Just a delightful beer. If you are looking for an over the top out of control imperial stout then pass this one up. It is none of that. What it is is a beautifully crafted joining of some wonderful flavors. Really impressed by this.

Sample from a 750ml bottle, thanks to phaleslu. Dark brown color. Thin light brown head. Dots of lace. Some metallic in the aroma. Nice moderate roast malt. Light coconut. Some dark chocolate. Bigger body. Lighter, crisp carbonation. Lightly dry in the finish. Moderate bitter taste. Light sweet. Decent imperial milk stout, not too sweet, but the flavor profile seems a little muted
4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 ads135 (1728) - Lawrence, Kansas, USA - JUN 2, 2013
Superb stout. Very chocolately and rich. Thick mouthfeel, creamy and dark. Not much in the way of apparent hops, a pure stout through and through.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 PhillyCraft (2119) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 31, 2013
Pour is black with light beige head. Palate is sticky as shit. Aromas and taste are banana bread, booze, plum, cherries, sugary sweetness, chocolate, light coconut if any. Not what I expected at all. Had some barleywine characteristics to it.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 GT2 (5810) - Jurupa Valley, California, USA - MAY 30, 2013
Tap at beer kitchen in Kansas City. Inky deep red pour, wispy mocha lace. Nose is a bit muted, dusty cocoa, baked cherry, hints of cinnamon. No robust though. Taste is thick, piling on dense chocolate chip banana bread. Dairy heaviness. Coconut absent. Moderate chai tea spice finish with cream. As it warms, more chai tea and zucchini bread with less banana dunkelweizen character. If someone really wanted to grill this beer, they might say it tastes like tootsie rolls and licorice blended into a grape milkshake. Fiancé loved it. GT2: 3.6 and Biggirlpanties: 4.3
