750ml bottle via trade. pours a dark brown and sits almost black in the glass capped by a rich, creamy, mocha head that leaves sticky rings of lace. aroma is great with notes of coconut milk, almonds, nutella spread, and mocha coffee backed by milk chocolate, roast, vanilla, and hints of licorice. flavor is delicious with rich milk chocolate, roasted malts, mocha coffee, and freshly toasted coconut backed by subtle notes of maple syrup and freshly backed macaroon cookies. palate is full bodied and smooth with light carbonation and sweet finish of coconut and dark chocolate. overall, a mounds bar in a glass. really tasty beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Capones, Black Friday bash, Norristown PA 29/11/13.
Pitch black with a good sized tan covering that clears to a swirl then settles down for the show.
Nose is light roast, liqourice, dark toffee, burnt brown sugars, sweet notes.
Taste comprises light roast, chocoalte, coconut shavings but pretty subtle, dark toffee fudge, a fairly sweet number.
Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, sweet sugar infused closure.
Decent enough impy, thankfully not infected, a little sweet and cloying towards the end, alcohol a touch hot at times.

1.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dommage.

22 ounce bottle poured a black color with aromas of sweet chocolate milk, and some light coconut. Flavors were milk chocolate, and coconut, light on the palate, nice mouthfeel, easy drinker with the abv listed. This is dangerously delicious.

2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft at Pony Bar. Looks like I’m not the only one to stumble on an infected batch of this stuff. Near black with a beige head. Light roasted malts, some odd tart fruitiness, balsamic, and faint dirty tartness in the finish. Not good.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Infected. Nose is roasted chocolate, sour berry and composted earth. The palate follows and isn’t horrible.. in fact the flavor is more pleasant than a lot of sour blacks on the market but the beer is ringing as a tart fruity shadow of the big chocolate version it once was. The coconut and chocolate presence is there and gives a glimpse at just how good this beer could have been if not for the introduction of some pedio infection.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A serviceable milk stout, initially with lactose sour edge, balanced by the coconut. Though I am not the biggest fan of coconut, despite recent health claims, this works. So thick milk chocolate. Tough to finish even for two.

This was nasty, smelled and tasted like rotten milk. And I clean enough of that out of my toddlers sippy cups. Could not drink.
