750 ml bottle via phaleslu. Pours dark brown with some reddish highlights and a small beige head. The aroma had the fruit character I was expecting, dark fruits, a hint of cherry, caramel, and a decent amount of buttery toffee. The flavor is pretty sweet, buttery toffee, caramel, dark fruits with plums and cherry standing out. This is good, but not great; certainly a bit different.

750mL bottle, sent from tstockstrom (thanks Chuck), pours a dark purple, almost like grape juice, with some bubbles for a head. Aroma of black currants, some Belgian candied sugar, and some lightly tart grapes. Flavour is lightly tart, with black currant, some mild candied sweetness, and grapes. Lightly tart and very dark fruity. ABV is no where to be detected. Good fruit beer - I’m just not a big fan of black currants.

750ML in a wine glass.

A - dark purple, 2 finger red head that fades to a single finger. nice lacing

S - Smells of brown sugar, cane syrup, raisins and apricots. Hint of cherry.

T - Taste is similar to the smell. lots of cherry, blackberries and dark fruits. sort of sweet at the finish.

M - medium body, high carbonation

O - Not a bad beer. Not one I’d seek out again though.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis, courtesy of jcnielsen. Pours a fairly clear, deep brown appearance with a small brown head. Nutty, dark berry, currant, chewy toasty malty, light caramel aroma. Light cough syrupy, blackberry/currant, a touch tart, nutty, caramel flavor. Not exactly my thing but it’s kind of interesting.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear dark ruby color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy sweet dark fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy sweet dark fruit flavor and a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. Good after dinner with a cigar brew that exceeded my expectations.

750 ml bottle. Proud is a fairly dark brown... highlights come through on the pour, but in the glass it’s pretty dark. Head is fairly thin and tan, maybe a quarter inch by the time it’s all said and done. Aromas are kind of muted, but I pick up some fruit (smells like black cherries to me), very light chocolate notes and a little graininess. Flavor is interesting... Tastes a lot like a very good cherry stout. There is a decent amount of roasty maltiness but the crown jewel is the current presence which is robust and carries the beer from start to finish, but gets tarter as it goes until a fairly sour finish. I was a little afraid of this one, thinking it could go south pretty quickly, but I didn’t expect it to be this good.

Bottle at a tasting at Paul’s. Pours a ruby tinged brown with a thin white head. Fruity, dark plum and prune notes, toffee and some touches of dark sticky caramel and old milk. Medium bodied, sweet and oxidized. Malty and full of plums and prunes. Malty, sweet, roast and a touch more prune on the finish. Sweet on the end. Interesting but a bit old.
