Tap @ Mekong shared with HopTsing. Very dark with thick cream head and lots of lacing. Smells roasty, boozy, herbalescent, and tart. Tastes roasty and bitter. Not too heavy. I actually really like this which I wasn’t expecting.

There is a soft bitter chocolate light belgian yeast flavor with light lactic acid taste.

On tap at the local option; pour is murky brown with a fine bubbled khaki head in this glass; it has a certain aroma that I recall... somewhat belgian, and somewhat shitty as well. Cola, fruit esters, berries, and caramel. The flavor profile reveals a prickly carbonation, cola sweetness, berries, caramel, moving to some weak belgian notes that never come together. Yeah, I remember this from the struisse release

nice dark, dark brown -- almost opaque -- color. thin tan head. wonderful aroma of dark, aged fruits. assertive sour note, mixing with aged dark fruit note. really great experience.

Bottle at home. Pours lightly hazy dark brown with a small, frothy beige head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is cookie malt, black currant, light toast malt, sour dark fruits and earthy notes. Flavor is sour dark fruits, earthy and toasted malt, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

On tap half pint at Gilly's Beer & Fine Wine in Rockville, MD.
Opaque, very dark mahogany with a fine, khaki head and very good lacing.
Aroma of bread yeast, tart dark fruit, sour chocolate and toasted sourdough bread. The aroma is fairly mild and seems thin, if that makes any sense.
Taste of sweet and sour black currents, dark toasted malt, chocolate, toasted sourdough bread and dark fruit.
Medium/light body and medium/high carbonation with a thin, unsatisfying mouthfeel.

Draft from brewery/taproom. Dark ruby hued mahogany with a deep beige head. Nose shows caramel, cocoa, dark fruit notes (plums, currants) and Belgian yeast. Taste is tart currants, cocoa, dark bread, toasted malt, strong yeast and soft earthy notes. Cocoa, tart currants, tart berries, toasted grains, yeast and light earthiness.

Tap. Pours clear brown to hazel, shall beige head, decent lacing. Aroma is spiced, fruity, cinnamon, toffee, yeast. Flavor is quite spicy, ginger, medium sweet, minimal bitterness, fruit, toffee. Medium body. Interesting, but a bit o er spiced.

Tap @ Churchkey. The pour’s deep brown with a small head. The nose is lactose, coca cola, some mild buggy yeasty funk. A bit of brown toast and cream. The taste is roasted malts. Mildly tart vinous notes. Red grape and cherry. Smooth cocoa. Light body, fine carbonation. Overall, pretty flavorful, nice.
