Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis, courtesy of jcnielsen. Pours a clear dark orange appearance with a light tan head. Tangerine, sweet, a bit dark fruity, slightly herbal, fairly strong aroma. Thick, quite boozy, toasty malty, very sweet, red fruity, orange, caramel, a touch soapy flavor. Decent but quite strong.

750 ml bottle from phaleslu. Pours a slightly hazy orange caramel color with a medium plus off white head. The aroma had quite a bit of fruit (tropical and some citrus), wheat, caramel, lightly toasted and a touch of wood. The flavor has the same fruits as the nose although they are not as dominating. More wheat, wood, and earthy bitterness comes through. Medium bodied and this hides the abv extremely well. Pretty good overall.

Here’s a tasty one. I love wheat wines and this is a pretty good one. Massive pineapple, seems like a lactose sweetness but It could be something else completely with crystal wheat?, lightly tart, light hop bitterness that adds nice backing, thinner and easy drinking, hides the 10% wonderfully. Nice job.

Bottle. Pours a deep slightly hazy amber golden with a big frothy off white head. Aroma is very nice sweet cake and pineapple character, caramel, very nice fruity notes. Flavor starts sweet and cakey, again plenty of that pineapple character along with some other tropical fruits with some wheat finishing a bit doughy and hints of some darker fruits. Medium to medium full body and a moderate carbonation. Nice beer

Smell is like a tropical fruit syrup...almost like a can of pineapple. The flavor is sweet and carmely. Some tropical fruit comes through in the flavor. Great body, full but not syrupy. Burnt sugar and with a nice acidity. Unique beer and very enjoyable.

25.4 oz bottle. Murky orange brown with white frosting. Nose is white grape, orangeade and light grass. Tingly, almost sparkling, a lively counterpart to the sticky, coating mouthfeel. Taste is caramel, wheat, key lime and tangerine peel. Certainly the best wheatwine i’ve had avoiding the pastiness of most others. The hopping adds perfect bitter balance but also accentuates the sweet citrus. Reminded me of Behemoth; delicious.

I acquired this in a trade. I sent a few Vermont beers in exchange for some mid-west beers. Taken from my cellar at 60 Degrees F and poured into a Ridel Bordeaux glass. Bottle Date: 10/2011
A - Poured a 3-Finger head with a healthy mix of big and tight bubbles. Very nice head retention along the edges of the glass as it dissipated. Dissipation took 5 minutes to achieve 1-finger head. The beer is a smooth and hazy golden orange. You’d think it was a light red ale but, against the light, this is a very orange drink with a lean toward VERY golden look.
S - Right on the nose is an explosion of wheat followed by that great wild / farmhouse yeast that you would expect from a beer like this. It’s classified as a Barley Wine on RateBeer but I’m getting wild / saison style. Great bits of orange peel and mild spices with a hint of cherries.
T - My nose deceives me. I’m getting more barley wine characteristics that I was not expecting. There’s a huge caramel matliness that hits immediately. This is followed by an intense bitterness that’s almost sour like as if the back of the tongue is a Lambic Geuze There’s a mild spice to this beer that I can’t pinpoint. Wheat beer is the last thing I’d think of in a blind taste test. It’s a beer with an identity crisis for sure.
M - Solid explosion of carbonation on a single mouth-swish about 90% of the beer turns to big bubbles. It’s light to medium bodied and the caramel malts and fleeting hops stick around long after swallowing I’d say for about a minute.
O - I’m not sure what to think of this beer. It’s good but not great. Wheat turns to caramel turns to very malty notes which leads to very bitter middle of the tongue experience with a lingering caramel taste but the nose is nothing like the taste. Hard to rate...I’m giving it a B+

750 ml bottle poured a clear orange amber with a large lasting amber head. Aromas of wheat, carmel, fruittiness and light spice. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, carmel, light banana and a hint of spice with a smooth lingering carmel finish.

Courtesy of Dak, thank you sir. It pours a copper color with tan head. The aroma is sort of peach flavored cotton candy mixing with floral hop notes, apples, pears and a malt sweetened wheat like sensation with a bit of booze at the end of the draw. The taste has a mix of light skinned sweet fruity esters like pears and apples mingling with spicy hops and then moving into stronger and stronger floral hop notes. Interesting brew where smooth sweet wheat takes this into the finish.
