Sample at Bridge Tap House & Wine Bar. Clear dark amber color with a thin white head that diminishes quickly to an outer ring. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of grain, fruit and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of piney hops, grainy malt and ripe fruit. The finish is fruity up front with a caramel malt aftertaste. Decent overall.

Nummer 1100. På fat @ Churchkey, DC. Bärnstensfärgad med smutsvitt skum. Arom: Karamell, citrus och säd. Samma återkommer i smaken plus en jordighet. Torr munkänsla. Alkoholen märks inte av i någon högre grad.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Bottling date of 9/2013. Rust colored pour with a short, foamy tan head. Aroma is very sweet. Lots of caramel, brown sugar notes, dark bread, candied fruit, booze and tropical fruit notes. Taste is also sweet with strong caramel, honey, booze-soaked fruits, candied fruit, dark bready malts, dark fruit, toasted grains and tropical fruit. Body is medium with a dense, creamy carbonation. Soft stickiness and moderate boozy warmth to this as well. Finishes with more caramel, toasted wheat, dark bread, dark fruit, softer tropical fruit and boozy notes.

Draft at Rustico Alexandria. Poured an amber color without much of a head - small, dissipated quickly. Aroma is some tropical fruit notes, citrus, caramel malts, and wheat. Flavor is some nice sweet fruit notes, citrus, with notes of caramel and wheat. Alcohol is present, okay - but not what I was hoping for unfortunately.

On tap at Fountainhead a few weeks back. Aroma of herbal tea, spice, caramel, citrus and floral. Flavor is sweet honey malt, spicy and alcohol. Medium body with active carbonation. Very interesting beer, sweet, spicy, musty, herbal, it has a lot going on and comes together fairly well.

750ml from an unremembered trade. Handsome pour, deep gold to orange and well carbonated. Nose is initially a bit overpowering, super sweet and strongly boozy. Mouthfeel is heavy and slick, palate quite hot. Flavors were disjointed to me, with sweet grand marnier in some spots, harsh, overly bitter strong ale elsewhere. Face-wrecker, overly harsh for the most part.
