3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (8997) - Woodland, California, USA - JUN 30, 2012Capped 750 from Wine& Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours hazy light amber with a creamy off-white head. Mild citrus over caramel for aroma. Med +body. It’s quite citrus. Almost zest. Maybe more than almost. The caramel is in the background. It’s quite bitter, and there’s an oaky astringency. Finishes quite bitter. Nice IPA from the folks in the East.

It poured a golden yellow color with a small white head. The aroma was lightly malted with some pine and hops. The taste was somewhat maltiness rather than hoppiness with pine and floral hops. A very good IPA.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ibrew2or3 (5777) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - AUG 18, 2012
750mL bottle pours slightly hazy deep gold with loose light tan head. The aroma offers up citrus like tangelo notes that quickly get resiny with wood sap spiciness. The taste is similar with a nice citrusy orange to tangelo sensation and then leading into more and more bitterness with resiny wood spicy notes. The malts that sweeten up the citrus and the spicy wood are in good balance and make for a pleasingly bitter experience.

Bottle- Pours a copper-amber color with a big head that fades slowly to ample lacing. Aroma of citrus, pine and a hint of sweetness. tatse of some citrus and malt sweetness with just a bit of grain. Very nice bitterness and a clean finish. Fairly medium body, quite crisp, smooth and refreshing. Nicely balanced. Very enjoyable beer that goes down easy.

Bottle... Hazy golden ale with a large, frothy, white head. Great retention. The faint bouquet is of orange peel, musky hops, toasted malts and dish soap. Medium-bodied and astringent with tingly carbonation. Malty, hoppy, balanced flavor. Finishes crisp and dry. Bottle shared by biggsbowler!

Bottle. Pours a golden orange color with white head. Malty, not very hoppy. Malty, oranges, some wood flavors. Doesn’t taste much like an IPA. Nice tasting beer.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 MrBunn (2219) - Western, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 17, 2012
750 from Friar Tucks in O’Fallon. Pours a cloudy orange with a big frothy head (too big in my view since filling a glass is 2/3 foam and 1/3 beer.). Aromas are herbal and almost medicinal with a pine edge to them and a little bit of orange peel. The herbal/medicinal edge seems to dissipate a bit as it warms, however, and the flavor is a pleasant enough mix of oranges and other citrus with pine and a little papaya or something vaguely tropical. There is a little bit of a grainy edge that is almost creamy and not quite right... It’s not bad, but could be a little ’fresher’ and more crisp.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Zenonymous (4) - twin oaks, Missouri, USA - JUN 18, 2012 does not count
Nice crisp citrus orange aroma and start. Finishes with a strong lingering bitterness that is complimentary. This ipa avoids being overwhelming by the mellowing it receives aging on those Louisville sluggers. Its definitely a hit.
