Homefront IPA is brewed to honor our veterans as they return home from duty. It was conceived by MLB pitcher Chris Ray and brewed last year with Fremont Brewing. We at Perennial are very excited and honored to be a part of brewing this year’s batch. Homefront IPA is brewed with oranges and aged on Louisville Slugger bats. Operation Homefront provides financial assistance to the families of our service members and proceeds from the sale of this beer will be donated to Operation Homefront.

Bottle purchased from the taproom. Pours a hazy bright orange with a ridiculously huge, thick head. Nose of sweet oranges, some bitter rind notes, and just a tiny hint of earth and wood. Taste is sweet orange but still hoppy and with enough bitterness. It’s too sweet, but interesting and refreshing enough that I ain’t mad at it. Great cause, too.

Draft to taster. Looks good; a slightly hazy golden orange with eggshell head. Smells of juicy hops with a mildly bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a pleasantly smooth medium-light to medium-bodied mouthfeel. A touch of orange zest on the tongue. Good beer.

This is a clear orange IPA w/ a long lasting head that leaves spots of lace all over the glass. Sampled at the brewery, this has a fresh peach and mandarin orange nose. It is medium bodied and just slightly sweet which further enhances the citrus notes. A lingering earthy bitterness finishes this out nicely.
