3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft sample at FOBAB 2013. Pours a murky, muddy brown-hued red with a small beige head. Notes of cherry, vanilla, oak, toast, mellow spice, and earth. Has a lactic character, with some grains, too. Medium-bodied, with low carbonation and a muddled, lactic mouthfeel. Interesting beer, but I feel like it could be better.

On tap: The aroma consists of light-moderate cherries, faint vanilla, and vinous notes. Itís a muddy reddish-brown with a small pinkish head that quickly fades to a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet cherries and faint vanilla. The finish has light tart cherries, wine, graham cracker, and faint oak. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, itís a rather strange beer.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Had a taste off against Goose Island and lost by a smidge. Sweeter and less effected by the oak aging. Not a write off and may have been higher if not for the direct comparison. I guess the difference is a lambic and a sour and I am partial to sours....
