COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Peach Berliner Weisse is a German-style tart wheat beer that’s perfect for the hot summer months. We violate traditional German beer production methods in every way by adding hundreds of pounds of Midwest-grown peaches to each batch. We hope you enjoy the irreverence as much as we do.

murky hazy peach, still with head. Spicy fennel and diacetyl nose, peach and lotion the result. Cask pour so lower carbonation than optimal. Peach skin, watermelon rind sourness, bit of dust. Ultra thin and slick. Nothin offensive, but more Florida Weiss than anything else.

750ml bottle courtesy of RobertDale via local for local swap chapter 5.5. Thanks Bob! Pours a cloudy orange straw color with a very thin foamy white head. Aroma of rotted peaches, citrus, Lysol, and wheat. Taste of sour citrus fruit, sweet peaches, wheat, and tart lemons.

Bottle poured a wheat golden in color with a coating of white head that fell to a ring quickly. Aroma has mild wheat tartness, very mild peach, peach skins, and some faint minerals. Mouth feel is light and the carbonation is a bit low. Flavor has a nice wheat, mild tartness, peach skins, mild peach pulp, and some minerals. It does open up quite a bit after some time in the glass and agressive swirling but it does leave me wondering where the hundreds of pounds of peaches went. Nice soured wheat beer but it is like it did not dry out completely.

Bottle: The aroma consists of light-moderate peach, faint grass, and a touch of lemon. It pours a transparent dull gold with a small white head. The flavor starts with light-moderate peach. The finish has light lemon, grass, and must. It’s light bodied with moderate-heavy carbonation.

UPDATED: DEC 16, 2013 [Bottle - 9/28/2013] thanks, Ron! Almost fully opaque golden and yellow near the bottom... Soft, white collar around the brew. Aroma is soft, sweet peaches, some light lemon peel, and a bit of wheaty grains. Sweet peaches... Almost more sweet than tart. Taste is more Berliner-like with some stone fruit skin notes, wheat, faint must, and only a very small hint of sweet peach. Good brew, but admittedly, not as good as I hoped for. Not as tart as expected, & a little chalky in the finish.

[Bottle - 12/14/2013] Another bottle opened at the 4Elf party. This one was better than the first. More peach flavor & a bit more tartness with a solid cotton & wet hay funk. Bumping up the flavor score... Perhaps this is getting better with age?

750ml, bottled in Aug. ’13. Aroma features a blend of mild yeast funk, fruity tartness, peach, lemon, faint bubblegum and very light honeyish sweetness, with a very light herbal accent in the background. Light golden in color with straw highlights, gently hazy, with a very fine, sparse head that dissipates. Flavor profile is fruity and mildly tart as well, more lemon and peach to be found throughout, along with some lightly grainy wheat malt, citrus, and a very slight degree of bitterness that appears towards the finish. Dry, effervescent and moderately thin on the palate, body is on the lighter side. At just over 4%, the alcohol content is somewhat hefty for the style, but the beer remains very drinkable and refreshing. I keep getting this note of peat now and again, also, no clue where that comes from. Pretty good stuff, all in all.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Bottled 8/2013. Straw yellow pour with a short, bubbly white head. Aroma is funky yeast, tart fruit, unripe peaches, wheat and soft lemon. Taste is lemon, yeast, strong wheat notes, tart peach and light earthiness. Body is light and the carbonation is prickly with a mild dryness during the finish. Ends with a touch more sweetness than any time throughout. Wheat notes, slightly funky yeast, hints of yogurt, peach notes, lemon juice and earthy notes.

On draft at Church Key in DC. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a frothy white head. Very unusual aroma - a hint of licorice. Flavors of nutmeg and mild tart apple. Where’s the peach?
