Inspired by the rustic farmhouse-style Saisons of Southern Belgium, Regalia is brewed with barley, wheat and spelt and fermented with Brettanomyces Bruxellensis and Brettanomyces Anomala. A sturdy malt character supports the complex array of flavors that the yeast provides, and will continue to develop over time.

(Draft at Brookland Pint) Cloudy golden-orange body with a whisk of white head; bubbles running up the sides of the glass. Aroma of hay, brettanomyces, tart berrries. Flavor is funky farmhouse, dusty blanket, strongly sweet caramel, lightly tart. Easy to drink, a touch sweeter than I would prefer. Medium body, chewy.

Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, displaying a cloudy, orangey gold color, with a modest layer of off white head foam that diminished rather expeditiously to a persistent ring, and light spots & strands of lacing. The nose was esters as pit fruit & orange, with yeasty funk, a touch of spice, and subtle hints that were leafy & minty. Medium bodied, and very effervescent, the taste was fruity, with less brett expression than the aroma, malty sweetness, noticeable but rather hidden alcohol presence, a bit of tartness, subtle hop bitterness, and a soft silkiness to the mouthfeel. Not overly bold, but pleasantly balanced and flavorful.

On tap @ The Trappist. Hazed copper colored beer with white foam. Pretty nice funk and fruity, estery components. Lots of pear, green grape, and stone fruit. A touch of sweet caramel, some cedar, and grass. Really complex. There’s a bit more sweetness than I initially anticipated, but not a sweet beer, really. Some slight peppery, woody bitterness. Hints of yeast, lots of fruit, and some citrus zest. Really interesting and pretty nice beer.

On tap at Stone Tap in Hudson, WI. Minimal head on a golden orange colored beauty. Slight cloudy nature. Aroma feels very Belgian with yeast funk and sweetness of citrus coming through. Taste is mostly syrupy sweet with the Belgian spices and yeast playing their part. Subtle sourness at the end which is probably a late attempt by the brett to show itself. Pretty decent overall. First one from this brewery and I’m excited to try more from their stable and regale my friends with stories of their interesting beers.

On June 23, 2015. At The Beer Junction in Seattle, Washington. Draught.
Cloudy yellow color, white head. Spicy, yeasty, light phenoliv taste. Phenolic aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium low bitterness. Slight funky, phenolic scent.

On tap at Blue Monk in Buffalo, NY. Always excited for Perennial beers, but this one didn’t quite live up to their best for me. Didn’t get a lot of the brett in it, was hoping for a little more funk. A little bit of bite in the initial taste but fades quickly into some fruity yeast. Ok beer.

Smells like a woody rotten Apple funk. Cloudy peach color with lasting layer of white head. Heavy on an dry Apple funk flavor. Coats your mouth. Strange good but strange.

Draft at fire works Arlington. Pours light brown with a khaki head. Doesn't leave much lacing. Has a bit of funk on the nose. More fruit notes on the tongue but also some Brett funk as well. Finished clean. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
