Black, creamy, frothy chocolate shake head, strong lacing / Big nose of roast grain, tobacco, chocolate / Medium body, acidic and lightly sour, probably needs a touch more malts / Flavors of roast coffee, cigar box, prune, sour grass / Nice, but needs a little more oomph.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Opaque black, moderate brown head. Roasted coffee bean, syrupy chocolate, toffee, a little vanilla, and unfortunately, some smoky green peppers in the background. Sweet, though not overly so. Smooth, creamy, and almost full-bodied but thins out at the end. Malty, mildly boozy, and lightly bitter finish.

On tap at Jerry’s at Wicker Park. Black pour with a choc milk head. Aroma has heavy roast, chocolate, and later caramel and molasses. Luscious to a coffee lover. Rich roast flavor, smooth with bakers choc and some caramel malts. Not super deep but super tasty. Finished bitter and sweet. Quite smooth. Not really seeming like 10+abv. Nicely done! 15.8

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Draft at Mikkeller Bar. Thick black pour with a one-finger lasting tan head. Some legs to it. Huge aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, and roast. The flavor is mildly sweet with a bitter finish. Really flavorful as hell. Lots of complex malt notes and coffee/chocolate. Loads going on. Thick as your mother with soft carbonation. Freaking legit imperial stout. Easily in the top 2% or so of the style.
