4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Almost as good as BCS coffee stout, and that's high praise. Perennial is blowing up. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle via trade from notes. Pours black in color with a small tan head. The aroma and flavor have a big roasted malts, dark chocolate, dark fruit, coffee that is a bit less forceful than I expected, earthy bitterness, hints of some peppery spice with decent coffee bitterness to the finish. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. Only knock was the body was a touch on the thin side.

Is there pepper in this? Seemed a little spicy, or green with veggieness. Nice though.

On tap at Harry’s Hofbrau in Redwood City. It pours a dark brown/black color with a brown head. The aroma has lots of dark bread, hints of fudge, vanilla and coffee. The flavor is rich and velvety on the palate with more dark bread, light anise, coffee and dark chocolate. Very little, if any hard roasted malt. Creamy. Really nice stuff.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma strong of coffee, roasted malts, chocolate, some light sweetness, and some dough. Flavor the same with a great blend of everything. Thick texture. A great beer (Sorry for not sharing, but you guys shouldn’t have kept rejecting my ticks).

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at Great Taste 2015. Black of course. Sweet and rich, tons of sugar and lots of coffee but not as much as some coffee beers. Palate is full and heavy. Heavily roasted grain, but not burned, and the high abv is balanced and well hidden.

Bottle @ Drink Rich’s American beer, thanks to Omgrich.
