Almost as good as BCS coffee stout, and that's high praise. Perennial is blowing up. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2015 Bottle. Pours very dark brown with thin, rapidly settling tan head. Almost no lace. Aroma is big coffee, roasted, burnt, dark chocolate, and caramel. Flavor is toffee, medium roasted coffee, dark chocolate, huge vanilla, toasted, lightly nutty and caramelized. Nice long-lasting, rich coffee flavor. Soft carbonation, medium-full body and smooth texture.

Pours a dark cola color with minimal head and lacing. Aroma coffee, chocolate and roast. Taste of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, hint of cherry and a little alcohol. Finished with a mild roastiness. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Very good.

2025 bottle. Dark brown cola color with a little head. Viscous and oily. Aroma is malt, chocolate, cherry and slightly vegetal. Taste is cherry, chocolate, roasted coffee beans and a nice bitterness at the end. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark cola color with some khaki head. Smells of malt, roasty, tobacco, coffee, a slight vegetal. Taste is a chocolate covered espresso bean, vanilla, roasted, cocoa, roasted hops. A nice sweet coffee taste that's enjoyable and warming but alcohol is hidden nicely. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Churchkey, DC. Thick black with big mocha tan foam. Nice mocha-coffee aroma, thick chocolate ganache with coffee. Creamy thick body. Sweet, lactic. This really is a tasty treat. Almost like an irish coffee. Way cool.

Bottle from Joe. Thanks man! Pours pitch black and thick with a massive mocha bron, super creamy head that lasts forever on top of this beer. Big earthy coffee aroma, roast, a bit of chocolate. Really all about the coffee though. Flavor is coffee and more coffee, lightly sweet chocolate and molasses, a bit of roast, then more coffee. Wow really nice. Big rich body but goes down way easy, medium low carbonation. Sits alongside FBS as one of the best non-BA coffee stouts out there.

February 5, 2015 - bottle from the brewery. As I was pouring this, I was amazed at how thick it seemed. It was a black pour with a nice tan head that lasted. I don’t know that I have seen a better appearance in a beer before. Aroma was roasted malt, chocolate and a nice rich coffee. Taste was consistent with aroma with a nice balance of the roast and sweetness from the chocolate. Like the aroma, the coffee was of high quality and the finish was a tad dry with some bitterness and alcohol. Full body and relatively smooth.

Black with a small but lasting tan head. Aroma of chocolate, licorice and cold coffee. Really impressive full bodied and well rounded flavour of dark chocolate, intense espresso coffee and vanilla flavour. Somewhat off-putting aroma, but the flavour is something else!

This beer pours a thick black color with a small brown head, and the aroma blends roasted malts and coffee. The taste is mildly bitter, mildly umami, and a touch sweet, and the palate fuses an oily texture, medium-full body, and a soft carbonation.
