COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with Hopleaf! We started by brewing a traditional German Berlinerweiss—which Napolean’s men called the Champagne of the North—then tweaked it with a homemade tea blend to impart a slight apricot hue and botanical aromatics.

Tap at Sidedoor. Unfiltered orange-tan. Big steady white head. Big sour lactic tones. Fruity sour tones. Optimum US Berliner. Nice cheesy lacto tones. Pretty great, I don’t get much tea character at all.

750ml bottle in a taster glass. Pours light and with a white head. Aroma of sourness, some pale malts, tropical fruit, light notes of tea, and some wheat. Flavor the same with a nice blend of everything. Average to lighter texture, a nice amount of carbonation. A good berliner.

Bottle from Argonaut in Denver. Pours a hazy deep yellow color with a medium white head that dies quickly to leave a thin film on top. Nose is very funky with hints of brett. Moderately fruity. Secondary notes of earth, tea leaves, dirt. Taste is initially very puckering. After that, a bright fruity tropical flavor emerges. Taste is really where this beer shines. I was worried with the aroma. Highly carbed and quenching.

Bottle at De Garde quarterly. Pours a cloudy copper gold with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is wheat, dough, floral. Medium mouth, tart lemon, funky, light dryness, good.

750 ml bottle.

Pours a slightly pink-hued. Tart lactic nose, some fruit and berry aromas. Pretty clean, straight-ahead Berlinner weisse base layered with tropical notes. It’s good enough, and very hard to point to any flaws, but nor am I feeling any over-the-top love here. After a glass I’ve had more than enough tartness and I’m not quite sure what to do with the remainder of the bottle.
