COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with Hopleaf! We started by brewing a traditional German Berlinerweiss—which Napolean’s men called the Champagne of the North—then tweaked it with a homemade tea blend to impart a slight apricot hue and botanical aromatics.

Draft @ Hopleaf. A beer that I expected more out of after reading the flavors. IT is a mildly-spiced brew, lots of biscuity maltiness. Herbal. Low sourness, not traditional.

UPDATED: MAY 18, 2014 Draft at the brewery. Pours a somewhat cloudy pinkish gold with a small white head that doesn’t last long. Notes of tropical fruits, tea, sour mash, dry cereal malts, lemon, and grapefruit. Light-bodied, with modest carbonation and a clean, dry, tart mouthfeel. Nice. Re-Rate: The 2014 batch seems different, and it works a bit better. It doesn’t greatly resemble a Berliner - more of a tea sour - but it’s nice. Lemon, tea, plenty of tartness, faint funk. Not much wheat or sour mash. Some botanicals, and a dash of spice.
