COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Collaboration with Hopleaf! We started by brewing a traditional German Berlinerweiss—which Napolean’s men called the Champagne of the North—then tweaked it with a homemade tea blend to impart a slight apricot hue and botanical aromatics.

Draft from the taproom. Hazy, slightly orange-tinted light gold pour. Nose of lemony wheat and tropical fruits. Taste adds a lovely tartness and a bit of a tea-like quality. Wish I would have had about 4 pints of this wonderfully refreshing beer.

Draft at ChurchKey. Hazy peach colored pour, decently sized white bubbly head. Nose and flavor are very pleasant, with peach and pineapple, earthy black tea, honey, lemon, and tart berliner funk. Clean and quenching. Not complex, but great for July in DC.

On tap @ sidedoor Chicago. Pours a nice bright orange / gold with middling white head. Aroma of apricot, tart kiwi, lime, wheat, funk, floral & aromatic English tea. Flavor is much of the same, light and bright mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Really refreshing.

On tap Links Taproom in Chicago. Tart is the keyword here. Smells like a slightly more herbal version of Blue Moon. Looks kind of like Blue Moon as well with a little more cloudy orange. However, the taste is much more crisp, tart, and floral than your average Wheat beer. Super refreshing and definitely awakens the palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Lots of sourish tropical fruits here. Pours pink murky with OK head and lacing. Finished medium sour. Hibiscus and some other fruits I can’t pick out. Bottle thanks to ajax25g.

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Bottled 5/2014. Blushing amber with a tall, foamy white head. Tart fruit, lemon juice, wheat, funky yeast, herbs and flowers. Taste is strong sour fruit, yogurt, funky yeast, herbal notes, unripe tropical fruit, earthy notes and wheat. Body is light and very effervescent. Dry during the finish with lots of lingering tartness. Finishes with more sour fruit, lemon juice, berries, wheat yeast notes, flowers, herbal notes and faint tea notes.

Bottle. Hazy rose/amber into the glass with a white head. Big funky yeast aromas with some subtle acidic notes. Flavor is funky and sour. I don’t get much tea flavor at all with this one but it is still a solid example of the style.
