The noble scent of hops and a characteristic, delicate bitterness along with amber colour and excellent clarity are the biggest advantages of Perla. Lublin hops from the finest growers, select natural ingredients, and a traditional brewing recipe combine to set the standard for the number one seller in the Lublin region.

Perła Chmielowa (Hop)/Lubelska has a thick, white, spongy head, a clear, bubbly, golden appearance, and a good amount of lacing left on the glass. The aroma is of sweet, honey-oriented malt and white bread crust. Taste is of the same, with a pleasant yeast component and a touch of hop bitterness to round out the sip. Mouthfeel is medium, and Perła Chmielowa (Hop)/Lubelska finishes crisp and refreshing. RJT

Transparent gold. Thin foamy white head. Steady and thick carbonation. Healthy spicy hop aroma, clean water and toast. Sharp yet rounded with a gentle toasted sweetness and tasty hop spiciness. Cleanly finishing. Refreshing. Light body. Very well balanced. Thickens and fills out as it sits. Stealth like alcohol attack. Finishes fuller, maltier and lightly sweet. More than respectable, this is downright good.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2005 I have to admit that I am kinda surprised by the average rating of this one. Perla is one of the best Polish lagers/pilseners. Wonderful hop smell and a nice looking head (although it goes off after a long while). The taste is very good, slightly fruity in the beginning but with a nice malt aftertaste. Feels very refreshing, I was surprised when I saw the 6% on the bottle. I’ve drunk few Polish beers that can stand next to this one. Strongly recommended.

Aromat słodowo-chmielowy. Duża piana, ale szybko opada. Smak słodowy z w miarę przyzwoitą goryczką. Najlepszy lager do 3zł.

500 ml bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours crystal clear bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of light lemon, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance of earthy hops and pale malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of light lemon, cracker, bread, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of cracker, bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice balance and robustness of earthy hops and pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness as well. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly grainy/creamy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish. Overall this is a very nice pale lager. All around good balance and robustness of earthy hops and pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and clean to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Polish beer are nearly always "pearls" in my mind! (So are many young polish women, but I digress!) Satisfying Eastern European pilsner that packs a punch at 6.2% ABV. This "Hop Pearl" is not too different from a Becks in taste, color or smell. Its good cold. It is a light, bubbly pour. Slight aroma. And a decent lingering aftertaste (even a bit sour.) Not a bad lighter-style beer to begin an evening. A good appetizer to whet one's whistle for more!
