Can shared at the ChrisO Flags of Many Nations Easter Tasting 2013 - London. Pours clear yellow with a fine white cream head. Sugary pale, bready malt nose with light honey. Medium to big sweet flavor with lightly papery dough malts, white sugar. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Somewhat creamy, in fact. Sweet, pale white bread to finish. Very simple, lots of white bread, dough and hay, but enjoyable in its simplicity.

Bottle brown, 500 ml, extract of wort 15,1%
Appearance: Head is very unstable and quickly diminishing, in 15 seconds there is totally no head, forget about lacing. Body is medium, colour is amber but half way between dark and bright.
Aroma: Nice malty, mild sweetness and a minute hint of gum used for industried purposes, a little bit of flowerish like iris, it comes from malts.
Flavour: Mild malty sweetness, but very genuine and natural, quite mild not harsh, well balanced with alcohol, though strong in alcoholic note. Very clear and characteristic taste of a good lager almost pretending to be a good pilsener, good quality malts, good amount og hops, quite high for a strong lager beer what is kindly surprising.
Palate: Quite long finish, palate is wonderfull, very flowery because of aromatic lublin hops.

Can, from an ethnic food store in Scunthorpe. Gold, fluffy but shortlived white head and gentle condition. Quite grainy in the nose with a faint woodiness and suggestions of alcohol, soft and full bodied in the mouth with a solid chalky bitterness blending discreetly with a sweet candy maltiness that swerves towards peardrops at times, gentle malty finish with some retronasal spirityy alcohol notes.

500 ml can for export to U.S. has the label pictured and 7.8% ABV, but says (in English) Perla Malt Liquor. Pours a clear golden color with moderate white head. Smells like a stong lager. Aroma has corn, wheat, and rubber. Mouthfeel is creamy, since there is little carbonation. Body is thin but not watery. There is practically no finish, but thankfully no foul aftertaste. This makes it easy to drink fast. There is no alcohol burn, either. Very good for a malt liquor, and not as offensive as other Eastern European strong lagers I’ve tried.

Can bought in Leuven. Clear amber-golden colour with low head and medium to smooth body. Nose of malt and hops. Taste of dusty ripe hops, aged grains, straw, leaves, burnt toast and hay. Very dry finish with floral hints. Solid strong pils but it just ain’t something special at all.

Can:Golden, big and stable beaten egg-white-like head; light bisquity nose with a subtle hoppy background; light sweetish-bitter flavour, very light bodied for a beer of 7.6%; light lemony-sweetish finish. Business as usual, a quite tasteless polish strong Lager........
