2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 ccex (799) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 27, 2012500 ml can for export to U.S. has the label pictured and 7.8% ABV, but says (in English) Perla Malt Liquor. Pours a clear golden color with moderate white head. Smells like a stong lager. Aroma has corn, wheat, and rubber. Mouthfeel is creamy, since there is little carbonation. Body is thin but not watery. There is practically no finish, but thankfully no foul aftertaste. This makes it easy to drink fast. There is no alcohol burn, either. Very good for a malt liquor, and not as offensive as other Eastern European strong lagers I’ve tried.

Tin, 500ml from Grosik Euro Supermarket, Banbury. Gold with fizzed head. Quite a harsh, slightly chemical note to this initially, this is followed by a sweet fruity note. Not great.

Can from some place by Seven Sisters station. Quite smooth but with an overwhelming cough syrup taste that does little to hide the alcohol. Brutal tramp juice.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Cunningham (2972) - Halden, NORWAY - OCT 10, 2012
Golden colour with a white head. A bit more than moderate sweet aroma. Malty. Corn? Sweet malty, light fruity and too much alcohol in the flavour. [Bottle from Opera Delikatesy in Warszawa, Poland]

From Gene’s. I seemed doomed to keep doing stuff like this. For some reason I grabbed a can of this. It really wasn’t to my liking. Grainy stale smell and taste overly sweet. Hides the alcohol pretty well. Serving: Can
