Tap at RJ. Clear quite dark colour. Moderately stable brownish head. Rich malty character with lots of fruitiness, classic Czech dark caramel. Rather sweet, lacking a bit of balancing bitterness. Otherwise fine, classic Czech dark lager without faults.

Draught @ Pivnice u Jary, Prague. Pours dark brown with a tan head, lacings. Aroma of malt, light roast, sugar, caramel, little coffee. Flavor is rather sweet, malty, brown sugar, caramel, coffee. Medium body, soft carbonation, sweet finish. 230815

Keg at Pardubická pivnice U Járy in Prague Day 5 of Fergus and Sarah’s Czech jaunt. 3/10/14. Clear ruby red / brown coloured pour with a fading greyish cream head. Aroma is malty, caramel DME, apple sticky dried fruit. Hint of belgian yeast on the nose. Flavour is composed of sweet malty caramel, dried fruits, meaty, toffee, maybe hot ferment. Palate is sweet, medium body, Bit too sweet.

(draught) hazy ruby-black colour with a frothy beige head. aroma of liquorice and cherry stones, with a hint of speyside whisky and some light cherry stones. flavour is mostly toasted malts and more liquorice, with a hint of yeast and a semi-dry finish. medium-bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle as Cudovar Granat, same barcode. Deep red color, big beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, dried fruits and hint of herbs. Taste has similar notes - sweet with mildly bitter roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Decent dunkel, quite drinkable.
