An excellent beer emerges from the great Peroni tradition - PERONI GRAN RISERVA. A prestigious clear double malt beer with an alcohol content of 6.6%: this beer is the result of a careful, scrupulous selection of the most noble qualities of aromatic hops, yeast and a spring variety of distichous barley named "cherie". Ingredients are chosen with great attention and the experience of long-standing brewers.

330ml bottle poured in a regular glass. I’ve had this beer when travelling to my sister’s house @ Autogrill - Milan area. A: Pours a clear reddish amber color forming a modest white head. Small retentation and almost no lacings S: Sweet caramel in the nose. Candy sugar, malt and bit citrus hops T: Follows the nose: Sweet upfront, caramel, caramel malts, candy sugar, citrus hops. Mild bitter end. Metallic sensation. In overall, a sweet beer M: Light to medium body. Medium carbonation. Sweet mouth sensation and a mild bitter aftertaste O: No big deal. As expected from a Italian macro. I would not classify it as a Pale Lager, maybe a Strong Euro Lager but reminds a Bock or a Heller Bock too. But definitely too strong and sweet to a Pale Lager [ BA Review @ 4/21/2012 ]

Dark golden colour with a white head. White bread aroma and plenty of bread-like flavour in the beer. Some red apple fruitiness. Also some mild hops taste but not particularly bitter. Plenty of warmth from the alcohol. Not a bad beer, but not very characterful.

Bottle at a cafe in Ravello, Italy. Pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of malt, grain, some unknown light fruitiness and a touch of alcohol. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and light bitter. Light bodied with high carbonation. Nowhere near as nice as the views enjoyed while drinking it!

Schöner weissgelblicher Schaum! Bier hat eine schöne goldgelbe Farbe. Leichter Malzgeschmack, sehr schön Abgerundet. Nicht zu bitter und nicht zu süss. Ein sehr gutes Bier!

Well-known Italian spring bock but apparently available in all seasons. Hazy ochre blonde colour, snow white head; light malt sweetness, citrus accents, pepper, cheese but unfortunately some solvents too. Pale malt sweetness in the mouth, hints of apple, light peppery hop bitterish finish with some badly hidden alcohol. Less appetizing than I had expected.

33cl bottle @ Pizzaexpress Shepherds Bush. Tulip glass. Pours a clear dark golden colour. Very small head, but carbonated. Not much nose. Malty, caramel taste. A strong mass manufactured lager. OK with food, average but drinkable
