An excellent beer emerges from the great Peroni tradition - PERONI GRAN RISERVA. A prestigious clear double malt beer with an alcohol content of 6.6%: this beer is the result of a careful, scrupulous selection of the most noble qualities of aromatic hops, yeast and a spring variety of distichous barley named "cherie". Ingredients are chosen with great attention and the experience of long-standing brewers.

Not bad. Even if it is difficult to categorize it in traditional brewing styles, it is one of the best "doppio malto" in Italy. Maybe it lacks a bit in aftertaste definition.

330ml bottle. Clear golden/amber colour, small white head. Malty aroma and taste with a light sweetness about it, bitter at the end. Stronger than standard Peroni and nicer I think. 2014-09-03.

Peroni made this pale bock in connection with the brewery’s 150th anniversary some years ago. It has a large continuous foam which covers the few flavorings. I can sense a little fruity hops. The taste is round and soft with good malt tones. Carbonation is also soft and comfortable and helps to fill the mouth with a malty sweetness mixed with slightly tart fruit flavors as well be a little reminiscent of green apples. Hop bitterness is comfortable and is not taken over, but retains the rich malt and fruity taste for a long time. Italian beer is rarely something I associate with something special, unless it is about the talented brewers from Revelation Cat. This time I was very pleasantly surprised, for this bock is extremely nice and really really tasty.

Ambar no muy oscura. Un dedo de espuma que desaparece al instante. Agradable olor a malta inicial. Cuerpo notable, carbonatacion media. Dulce malta tostada con algo de caramelo para acabar un final seco muy amargo de larga duración. No está mal

Bottle BBE: 10.15. Well-chilled. Pours clear amber with negligible head. Some bubbling evident. Medium-low intensity aromas of malt/grain/cereal and a little noble hop smell. Light sweetness and a light medium bitterness, not very complex. Light-medium body with high carbonation and rough texture. Alcohol taste and quite astringent in the finish. Overall an uninspired expression of the style.
