Tasted 11/14/07. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a bright golden hue. Finger width of white head. Corny grainy aromas. Sweet bitter and off-dry. Sticky. Light to medium bodied. Sticky and bitter. Sugary skunky. Touch thin. Moderate at best.

Pretty unremarkable, and a bit disappointing actually. Taste is bitter and flat, disappears almost immediately and replaces itself with a strongly undesirable aftertaste.

Bottle. Very light pour with a large white head. Grassy, grainy aroma was pretty strong. Taste is slightly bitter, dry, crisp hops--a little pine, mainly grass. Finish is dry and somewhat bitter. A classic "bad" Euro beer thatís still head and shoulders above US macros. Cheap and abundant in Italy no doubt.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2008 Bottle. Pale yellow color with a medium white head. Aroma with grassy hops and some malt. Flavor has some malt sweetness but is mostly dry with hop bitterness. Light to medium body - quite watery. Nothing very good about this one but itís not really bad either and the hoppiness is quite pleasant.

Bottle. Expected aroma of pale malt and noble hop. Pale gold color with a respectable white head. Thinnish body with sharp carbonation. The flavor is malt backed with noble hop. The finish is fairly dry and the hop is adequate - say balanced. Decent representative of the style, and much better than American macro versions.

WAY better than Bud, etc. But thatís about it. From the bottle, itís a little skunky smelling, with some cardboard too. Taste isnít bad.

Pours a a very light yellow with a head that slowly disolves into nothing. The aroma is a tad skunked, but underneath that is a cardboard hop pellet scent, not unpleasing, but boring as hell. The flavour is just as uninteresting, straight forward light hops, but not enough to balance out the corn sweetness. That asside, the beer isnít particularly offensive, and its relatively refreshing, so it gets some bonus points. But I will probably never buy this again.

(355 ml bottle) Peroni Nastro Azzurro pours a bright, light golden with a fully diminishing white head. It is very clear and sparkling. The aroma is pretty slight and sweet. It mostly smells like adjuncts with a little juicy wooden hops. There is almost a touch of brown sugar in the nose. The beer feels light but not watery. There is a little prickle on the tongue at the swallow. Not bad. There are not enough hops to cover the skunk, but they are detectable. Corn and lemon and fiberboard are three things that come to mind. If Steam Whistle went skunky, it could taste like this. If you took the malt out of a Bedele, it could taste like this. My people call this maize. Iíd like to run this against a Heineken. Is this skunked or is this on purpose? Is this fermented polenta?

Rated while drinking: Pours an unmistakable crystal clear flax color with a big fluffy white head thatís slowly diminishing as I type. Not much lacing, but the head retains its consistency. Very skunky bottle smell hits at first, but underneath is a faint hop aroma. Tastes like water, but a tad bit of sweet malts and pleasant hops kick in after the swallow. Very faint and subtle altogether, but itís pretty refreshing. Watery but hops add a bit of bitterness. Not worth the cost, but itís very accessible; so maybe for a family party?

Bottle. Pours a clear straw yellow. No head Aroma of yeast and some hops. Taste is right up there with Rolling Rock. Not a good choice on my part.
