muzzlehatch (4424), Burlington, Vermont, USA Dec 30, 2007 12 ounce bottle from City Market in Burlington, VT (December 2007), sampled a few minutes out of the fridge from a Christoffel glass. A voluminous, fluffy white head near-fills the glass, decaying moderately quickly and forming chunky irregular lacing above the very pale, clear straw body.....nose is a bit skunky, despite the green bottle presumably not having been exposed to light in its abundant packaging; after a couple of minutes, the nastiness dies down but there isn’t much malty goodness or hops to smell either....strangely, I get cigarettes....flavor-wise it’s a little better, certainly tolerable if quite dull; lightly sweet, a bit of pale cereal character, the faintest touch of grassy hops towards the finish (saaz perhaps?)....it’s not really all that bad, but it’s not so much better than American industrial lagers that its worth paying an inflated price for, certainly.
WISEGUY572 (1083), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2008 Just another mass market European world lager, no better or worse than most of them. Some hints of sweet malt, some hints of floral hops, but mostly just carbohydrate water. Miksu (1181), Jyväskylä, Finland Jul 20, 2008 0.33 l bottle. Pale golden color with small head. Refreshing herbal hop aroma with honeyish maltiness. Malty honeyish flavor with peppery-herbal hops and low to medium bitterness. Refreshing and delicate but has some taste. Not a bad international lager, I could drink this again. tarjei (1051), Bryne, Norway Jul 20, 2008 33 cl bottle at Premier Inn restaurant, Albert Docks, Liverpool.
