Dacrza (164), Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA Jan 4, 2008 Sharp metallic Hallertau or corn(?)--expected from the green-bottled non-beer producing nations of Europe...light bread malt...tawny pale gold translucent body; a white frothy head that dissipates to a thin tracing...body is moderately effervescent.... smooth and minimal texture--starts and finishes with nondescription... clear and crisp--a bit watered to the point of refreshingness... trouble is naming a taste without a flavor--a bit of wood? "palate cleansing" is the compliment the Urquell/Peroni/Tyskie sampler’s guide ascribed to this lager, and the attribute sticks... as for the taste, this is beer best served in pairings, either with Italian dishes, cheeses, or five or six other Peronis, I believe...
ska (56), Italy Oct 11, 2008 66cl bottle, fruits and grainy aroma, bitter flavor, good bitter finish, tipical pale golden lager with medium hops presence Enjoyit (1108), Vadum, Denmark Oct 7, 2008 Pale yellow with a nice foamy white head. An aroma of dust, hay, weak malt. A thin flavor with notes of sweet malt and hops. Pretty boring lager. SeanMacGC (54), Dublin, Ireland Oct 5, 2008 Bottle. Pours clear and light golden, with faint hops and yeast on the nose; similar on the palate, with a sharpish taste. Heavily carbonated, with decent and durable head. GAManiac (350), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 4, 2008 On tap.
Pours a clear bubbly straw color with a bubbly white head that showed very good retention and lacing. Smell is very nondescript with hints of pale malts and mild hops. The taste has a slightly hoppier kick to it with a little bitterness in the finish. The pale grains are present in the background throughout. The mouthfeel is very crisp and dry with lots of carbonation. This is actually a decent lager on a sunny summer afternoon. edmajorjoe (55), Vail, Arizona, USA Oct 4, 2008 Peroni is a light looking and tasting lager. It reminds me a lot of Harp with its light taste and limited palate.
