A crisp, refreshing, and always sessionable ale with a hint of bee hive sweetness and a light, clean, malt character. Urban Dictionary defines sessionable as: "the characteristic of an alcoholic drink which is suitable for a lengthy drinking session". Perrin Gold rocks 2 row barley, wheat and German Noble, Magnum and Hallertau hops.

On tap @ beer exchange. Pours a deep golden. Taste is grainy, corn, very sweet. Bit of a skunky european pilsner taste.

Pour from a 12oz can. Crystal clear golden brew with white head. Good lacing and head retention. Aroma dominated with a crisp and slightly fruity hops with musty, earthy notes around the edges. Taste is light and refined malt at the start. Mild hops bitter is present up front, ends with a crisp finish, though a little sweet malt still comes through. Noble hops and hints of green fruit at the very end, also some earthy notes. Not a trace of adjunct. Creamy pleasant palate. Excellent job within the constraints of the style.

Tap: Golden, toasted yellow body with good clarity. Soapy white head on tap that lasts for a bit. Aroma is very mild. Faint grain, grass, & hints of floral notes with a mild citrus zest backdrop. Flavor is light & easygoing as well, with notes of mild citrus, orange, & lemon zest, grassy hops, a mild earthiness, timid grains, & some toasted biscuit malt leading into the mostly clean finish. Not a whole lot going on, but still pretty drinkable. Tasty overall.

Pailhead (5801) - Plymouth, Michigan, USA - DEC 29, 2014
On tap: The aroma consists of moderate sweet cereal, grain, and a touch of grass. It’s a transparent gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet grain, faint honey, and a touch of citrus. The finish has light straw, grass, and a hint of lemon peel. It’s light bodied with light-moderate carbonation.

Draft at the brew pub. Pours golden with a medium white head. Aroma of grains, grass, mild fruit and bread. Some herbal hop notes. Flavor has a medium bready sweetness cut by mild herbal hop bitterness. Light bodied with spritzy texture, lively carbonation. Finishes a bit sweet with mild fruitiness.

Bland---in all respects. Probably OK for the style, but too much like Bud. Clear golden color with minimal head. No hop taste. Bigger body than Bud is its only saving grace.

Served on tap at Perrin. This light golden ale is also light in color and body. It has more than adequate aroma and adequate taste for a light ale, however. Still, best thought of as a premium craft beer for those fond of Bud Light and the like.

Tap sample. Poured clear golden color with an average white frothy head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate hop and sweet malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration. Good drinkable sweet brew.
