COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A fine example of the IPA’s Britain sent to India during British colonization. Since the beer needed to travel a long distance without spoiling the IPA is high in alcohol and extremely high in hops, both of which naturally preserve the beer. IPA is both malty and bitter, but the hop character is most pronounced.

This one had almost no aroma to speak of, other than a slight whiff of pale malts. Taste had just a hint of bitterness, and not much character. Wrong hops all around, I think.

This light gold beer has an amazingly floral aroma. It smells like lemongrass. It is a very mild IPA which isn't too bitter. It's one of my favorite IPAs. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

4oz sampler -

3rd beer of the sampler flight, and easily almost my favorite of the beers (the favorite would be their porter). A inviting aroma of piney and citrusy hops, with just a touch of malty sweetness showing up. This revealed to be pretty much the flavor as well, as the hops asserted themselves very nicely and the brewmaster made this IPA on the dry side, which was great. It really let the woody, citrusy hops show thru. Really a suprise beer and highly recommended if in Monterey, CA.

Clear golden coloured beer with some very light carbonation and a very small white head. Fruity hoppy bitter hinted refreshing aroma. Full light bitter palate. Finish is hoppy bitter with a short bitter ending. Not extreme, but balanced.

light amber .little body boring. Not offensive, but truly lacking much character for a California IPA.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours orange with a fluffy white head and a light floral aroma. There is a nice caramel malt flavor and just enough hop bitterness to be interesting. Dry finish.

On-tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy amber with a moderate white head, spider web lace. Smells lightly hoppy citrusy and malty. Tastes hoppy and citrusy sweet, very sweet. Caramelly malts, slight resin. Medium body, subdued carbonation.

On tap. Pours a clear dark brown body with a long lasting off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is of spiceey and earthy hops. Taste is floral hops with a nice sweetness backing it up. Lively bubbles. Good IPA.

Not hoppy in smell but bunches and bales in taste. Nice carmel flavors a tad astringent. Only had one

No hops in the aroma. Some faint bubble gum sweetness; off style. Clear amber in color with no bubbles. Off white ring. Nice lace. Totally not an IPA. Has some spice (all-spice?). Not a bad flavor; just off-style. I am wondering if perhaps the waitress switched the amber with the IPA. I detected citrus in the nose on the amber, which would be more characteristic of an IPA than an amber, although that sample didn’t have much in the way of hops either.
