1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 3/20
Can: The aroma is very light and consists of hints of apple and grass. It pours a transparent gold with a soapy two finger head that quickly fades to a thin film. The flavor starts with just a touch of sweet cereal notes. The finish has very light grassiness and a hint of apple. Light bodied with lightly fizzy carbonation. Overall, it’s pretty bland but inoffensive. I’m not sure why this is listed as a Pilsner instead of a Pale Lager.

A Belgian macro I’ve never heard of and picked up at Trader Joe’s, I’m sure this will be great... dark clear gold, big white head, good retention and excellent lacing, really?... the nose is god awful skunk and wet grains... the taste is terrible, sweet grains with chemicals and skunk... pass

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pale Lager Month, installment number four brings us back to canned Dutch beer purchased at Trader Joe’s.... but what’s this? It’s made in Belgium? The beer pours golden with a big white head. The aroma is faint, and what’s there really holds few pleasantries.... Mostly it just smells like wet breakfast cereal. The flavor is about as exciting, more of that breakfast cereal sweetness, some mild crisp hoppiness cuts through but fades away quickly. The best thing about it is that it has a sort of nice mild lingering bitterness.
If I didn’t like beer very much I’d be buying this by the case, it’s just a very light very smooth, slightly sweet lager that is really easy to drink.... not to mention it’s cheap. A few days ago I rated Milwaukee’s Best Light; after rating it surprisingly high compared to the average I went and read some ratings on it. Lots of folks with far more ratings under their belt than I said things like "carbonated alcoholic water" I tell you this, in a battle of smooth and boring this would knock the socks off of Milwaukee’s Best Light.

16 oz. can to footed pilsner at home. Pours pale gold, head is light and mostly air. Aroma is hay, no detectable hop signature. Light and drinkable, if I’m going to drink a pale lager then I could do a lot worse than this one.

Pint can from Trader Joe’s in Fairfax VA. Poured a pale golden color with a large white foamy head. Aroma was pale malts, pretty neutral. No skunk thanksThis is drinkable, but it’s pretty bland and boring.

2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap in England. Pours a golden color with a very thin white head. Aroma is well I swear it is not there at all. Taste was almost the same, but fizzy and a little hops. Palate was well the same with slight hops again. Not bad but just not there either.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Trader Joe’s, DC six-pack ($6): Pours a golden color with your standard sea-foam head. Aroma is of adjuncts and some hops. Not entirely tasteless, but still pretty watery. There is a certain amount of that Northern European hop bitterness in there. Drinkable and really cheap (this vs. 211, I would take this any day). Also, it says that it is made in Germany not Belgium on the can.

Pretty terrible swill. There were black bits floating in my beer that made it very unappetizing.

16oz can. Typical mass produced lager in all categories. Nothing great but not completely horrible.
