2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Canned. Poured clear, bright golden with a short-lived white head. The aroma picked up honey and toasted grains with light grassy accents.. nothing really good going on. The flavor found tangy, metallic notes on the tip of the tongue.. honey and corn sweetness followed.. a bit sour on the quasi-refreshing finish. Light-bodied and metallic on the palate.. not really offensive, but hard to like.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Rated from old notes. Starts rich, seems promising, but then seems slightly off when going down. Weird large bubbles suggest artificial carbonation. Vague fruitiness adds some interest, but this is a disappointment.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Can from Trader Joes. Yellow pour with white head that dies quickly. Some spotty lacing on the glass. Nose is light but bready. Light hops. There is a creaminess on the palate and mouthfeel that is quite pleasant. I don’t recall seeing this in either The Netherlands nor Germany. I’ll bet that at this price it’s like their version of "Milwaukees Best". But because it has no corn or rice it’s 100 times better than that. This is less than $6 for a six pack of pints. Very nice at any price, but excellent for only six bucks more than free!

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can pour, decent head. Typical euro lager aroma and taste. Not too bad. I didn’t have any trouble finishing it.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Type: 500ml can (16.9 oz.)
Glass: Lagunitas mason jar
From: Barons Market in Alpine, Calif.
Price: $5.99 for a 6-pack
Purchased: Oct. 2, 2015
Consumed: Oct. 2, 2015
Misc.: Canned on April 9, 2016
Poured a copper, pale, clear color with three fingers of white, frothy head. A good deal of bubble streams shooting straight up from the bottom of the glass. No lacing on the sides of the glass. No retention on the top. (Sight - 3.25)
Smelled honey, corn, butter, grass, cereal, wheat and light sourdough bread. (Smell - 3.50)
Tasted much worse than the nose, mainly getting farm smells. Particularly hay, grass, faint manure, cereal, corn, wheat and maybe a touch of honey. (Taste - 2.75)
Light body. Thin texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt, grassy finish. (Feel - 2.75)
As bad as I was expecting it, this was not good, even for the price. Oranjeboom is much better. (Overall - 2.75)

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from TJs. Brewed in Germany according to the label. Nose is barley malt and mild, herbal noble-like hops. Flavor is bready and very pure tasting barley malt bill - which is very nice for this price range in the US. Good balance between a tea-like hop flavor and mildly sweet malt. A good seemingly adjunct free lager that might just be a bit excessive on the hop extract - but that is expected for the price. This beats almost every US macro lager right out of the gate. I suspect that this the kind of cheap and readily available barley driven beer that most Americans rave about after visiting the continent after a lifetime of watery corn and rice crap.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Light grainy aroma, with hints of sweet malt, not much in the way of hops. Pours a clear light amber with a quickly fading white head. There’s a touch of grassy hops, but not enough to balance out the sweet grainy malt. Light bodied, with just a slightly sweet finish. Not a good example of the pilsener style.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Can in Seattle, from Trader Joe’s. Alright European pils, rather tart and crisp compared to cheap American versions. Lagering sour, clean, but macro. Just ok.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20
16oz can from Trader Joe’s, about $1.20 for single can, poured into pils glass
Aroma: light grainy, slight cracker, somewhat spicy/noble hops, clean
Appearance: gold, very clear, white head
Taste: light bitter
Palate: medium body, creamy, light bitter finish
Overall: Not a lot going on in this beer. Hops are very subtle, too subtle for style. A slight bitterness in finish, but that’s about it. Body and color is good, but just lacks a bit in the taste. Nothing horrible, but just nothing in the taste to comment on either good or bad, just a lot of things missing.
