2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
"malty, with a light, hard to notice aroma. body is a bit thin, and there is a slight bitter aftertaste, but no hop aroma. nothing worth trying here...no surprises."

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle years ago in the US. It was a solid brown ale with a nicely balanced maltiness. Not too sweet or cloying, a good ale. It’d be considered tame today but there’s something to be said for a well rounded sessionable beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Petes Wicked Ales were some of the first craft/non-Bud style beers that started me on the road to realy good beer. This beer has a medium brownish color with coppery highlights. This is top by a small quick fading white foam head. It has a mostly sweet malty character, in taste and aroma which is faily light overall.

A - Pours a slightly hazy cranberry brown. Small head that dissipates quickly.
S - Sugary malt, roasted walnuts, molasses, some unknown tart fruit comes through as well.
T - Caramel malt, pecans, woody figs, muted citrus adds some bitterness. Finishes slightly crisp with a toasted caramel aftertaste.
M - Light to medium body.
Good flavors going on here. This beer is nothing to look at and the nose is not great but it’s tasty and goes down very smooth.

An old standby, Pete’s was cleaner and smoother than most brown ales I’ve tried. Sad to see it go.

Originally reviewed: 11/7/08. Pours a nice crimson brown. Crystal clear with good amount of bubbles rising through.
Nothing spectacular in the smell. Smells floral with some pine notes. Sweet smelling.
Nice taste to this though. Creamy smoothness brings with it a nice mild to medium hop bitterness at the finish.
This is a very drinkable brew. Pairs really well with my burger. I could drink a few of these.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle pours a pale amber color with a 2 finger white head that settles quickly leaving only a few specks of lacing behind. Aroma is caramel and earthy notes with some toasted grains. Taste is caramel malty sweetness with some earthy hop bitterness. Medium body and light carbonation. A pretty decent brown ale.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Aroma has notes of cereal malts, caramel and toast. Deep brown hue with a small off-white head that mostly diminished and left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet. Palate is light/medium bodied and watery average. Overall a decent brown with an ok caramel malt character that was enjoyable to drink.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle pours a copper with a white head. Tastes smells of caramel, bread, not bad at all a bit sweet but I like that better then lots of hops.
