Dark brown with lots of bubbles. Fast disappearing, offwhite head. Metally aroma. Caramelly flavor with very little bitterness. Definite burnt and metallic taste early on. Thin body with watery carbonation. Weak ale.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 WakeandBake (549) - Greenville, Michigan, USA - SEP 28, 2008
Bottle. Pours amber with a cream colored head .Sweet malt aroma. Some very mild hop aroma, but nothing to serious. Flavor is sweet and mild, maybe a little smoke. Nothing super good but it’s a nice beer to have when you get a little burnt out on IPA’s .

Bottle. Pours dark amber with a medium white head. Nice lacing. More hop aroma than I expected. Flavor though was more malty. A nice beer for the price!

Pours a cola-brown. Aroma is a tad bit roasty, with a little hint of a fruity background. Flavor is good and warm, and still a bit roasty. A bit more watery than I’d like. And a little one dimensional. However, otherwise, not bad at all.

Bottle. Nota bad brew to drink with more malts than hops. Sweet and simple.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 popephred (244) - Plainfield, Illinois, USA - SEP 2, 2008
Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a red-brown body topped with a white head of foam. Aroma was very weak, though had some malt notes. This was a watery ale, with crisp carbonation and a tart-sweet taste. The palate was not complex, leaning toward the malts. The ease of drinking this ale, combined with it sweet-tart flavor made this simple ale a passable drinking experience.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 shalloWMeans (160) - Independence, Kentucky, USA - SEP 1, 2008
Fiery red, mahogany color, distinct, luminescent and attractive, quite inviting and very deep. The smell is very malty and sweet- caramel, butter toffee and oats, balanced by a gentle bite of spicy, floral, leafy green American hops. The taste is very subdued and not ultra-complex, but is sweet and caramelly, much like an amber ale. Light molasses and rich toasty malts massage the mouth with loads of carbonation in-hand, and the hops that made an impact in the aroma are nowhere to be found in the taste. Nonetheless, this brew has a nice, crisp, lively and sensuous body, and makes for an easy drinking, yet fun and energetic ale.
